Los Tres Amigos — Restaurant in Wood River

It’s almost five stars but apparently they hired a free handout seeker and that person decided not to show up for their new job….no I’m giving them five stars. These people were working SO hard back there to keep up and keep us customers happy for the Wednesday before thanksgiving day. A very busy night for restaurants for as long as I can remember. These smaller mom and pop restaurants are the ones you want to take your money into with the pandemic and the ding dong in the whitehouse. The little super chain, nationwide Mexican food restaurant across the street is trying its best to close itself down for good. No effort to get things right over there. If this restaurant found one of them types working in their little restaurant, the squirrelly kid would be instantly fired because family run restaurants care about surviving. The server/door guy (he was doing everything that night) warned us they were short handed and having trouble keeping up but that chips and salsa came right away and 20 minutes from the time we came in the door our dinner was served! Apparently that hard work paid off and them boys got themselves caught up. I saw happy faces and heard no complaints...

The food is pretty good and the salsa and margaritas never disappoint. edit The last few times we have been our waiter isn't friendly and seems impatient with us. We went just 2 days ago and had him as our waiter again. Still not friendly and still impatient. Our food came out first with out the tortillas that go with it and he seemed annoyed that we even asked for them, then the kids food, then the other 2 adults, then he finally brought our tortillas. It was our oldest daughters birthday so you know why she wanted to go (ice cream in your face and singing). He didn't seem to care to give it to her so he put it in front of my husband (at the opposite end of the table) or see if any of the other guests at our table wanted anything else. We sang to her ourselves and smashed the ice cream in her face. I get that staff is at minimum at certain time but please take time out for kids and be courteous to...

The wait staff were very pushy to get our orders in, we had 4 people total and some of us still hadn't made it to the restaurant yet. We told them that we were waiting for the rest of our friends and in 10 minutes were asked 4 more times for our orders. Finally everyone shows up and as soon as the last one sat down someone came up and asked for her order before she could touch her menu. We had already ordered drinks and throughout the evening we ordered more. At 9 we were told we couldn't get anymore drinks because they wanted to close at 930. So we finished our drinks and boxed up our food and had to wait for someone to ring us out our bills. As we finally got out the door at 9:25 I saw 5 or 6 people running out of the back door into the parking lot and drove away as fast as they could. They made it clear they didn't want us there.
