Well I haven’t been to this restaurant in a long time. In the past I always went to the hibachi side with no complaints.
This time decided to go to the empty restaurant side. As soon as I was being seated the manager seemed friendly and joking with me and my kid.
We ordered our food which seemed difficult bc the waitress was not understanding us at all. So I just started pointing to things on the menu.
When the food came out it looked very pretty however I tried my chicken and it was awful. It had an unbearable taste and was extremely slimy and pink inside. I tried explaining to my waitress and she right away ran for the manager. He wanted to know what exactly was wrong with it. I explained it had a bad taste and was slimy.
They took my food never asked to bring me something else. So I sat there and watched my son eat.
When the bill comes they charged me for everything on my plate and the side that came in a different plate except the chicken. But I didn’t eat anything off my plates bc they took my plates. So I didn’t eat sides and anything only drank a soda.
Then I see they add their own tip. With service like this and the fact that I didn’t eat anything I don’t feel the tip included should have been as much as it was I stayed quiet. Then she comes over and tells me this line here is for tip! Wait you do speak and understand English all of a sudden and now you asking for me to add an additional tip????
So I said to her but you already added the tip she said “not me”. I point to the line that shows the tip and she says more lol 😂
So I get up and go to the manager and I said I didn’t even eat and you added your own tip and now your waitress who all of a sudden speaks English wants more for a tip. He said well I don’t know why you didn’t eat bc I tried the chicken and it was fine! Wait, what? You tried the chicken from my plate, I’m confused and grossed out. Then he says she doesn’t understand English. I said she does when she asking for a bigger tip.
I was so grossed out and aggravated I left after paying.
Pretty heavy bill for only my 13 year old eating...

We've passed Imperial 46 Restaurant a number of times and thought nothing of it. Actually, I always thought it was another location of sushi buffet place from Long Island--probably cause the signage is very similar. That said, don't go by what it looks like from the outside! It in no way reflects the stylized decor and quality that is Imperial 46!
On a Friday night at the peak of dinner, we waited about 10 minutes to be seated--pretty good! All the chain restaurants in the area would've had a minimum of 30 minutes wait. I noticed it was BYOB based on the talk of the nearby patrons, not to mention their arms filled with beer and liquor.
We were seated on the right side of the restaurant--tables of 2 and 4 plus the sushi bar. Whenever the door opened, the wind whipped right by us. On the left side of the restaurant is the hibachi section outfitted with flashing lights to get your party on. And speaking of party, Imperial 46 has party rooms if you're looking to host a bash.
They have a rather extensive menu of Chinese, Japanese and sushi to choose from. I always get the same thing when I eat Chinese--broccoli and string beans in a brown sauce. And for such a simple dish, I'm always asked if it's "okay to charge you extra". For what? Being specific? Needless to say, I really enjoyed Imperial 46's version of my dish, albeit a touch on the oily and salty side. It was served with the fluffiest brown rice I've ever had (though they didn't ask what kind of rice I wanted). Typically the dish is served in one dish, the rice in a small bowl--Imperial 46 put everything on the same plate, leaving less room for the vegetables, thereby saving Imperial 46 some coin.
My husband didn't stop singing the praises of the Panko Crust Tuna Roll. He said there was a mix of flavors from the tuna, panko, sweet and sour with a little spice. At almost $13, he said it was well worth it. He also had a chicken roll and spicy tuna roll which paled in comparison.
With friendly and helpful servers, I'm quite sure Imperial 46 has found a repeat...
Read moreWe came as a party of 10 with a reservation for 8 o clock to celebrate a birthday and were right on time. A group of young men sporting watches that were worth more than some of the entire outfits of other customers (not to try and degrade others, just painting the picture that we werent some raggedy kids). Before saying anything else, l will start by saying the hibachi chief “Danny” was perfect the entire time and a great chief at that. The manager however was the problem. By 9-9:05ish we were all finished eating and given the bill, there being 10 of us (9 covering the bill on behalf of the birthday boy) it took a few minutes for everyone to get the proper amount of cash together for their own orders. Within the first few minutes our waitress came over twice for the bill even though it visibly was still being passed around. After that, a man we’d never seen before comes and asks for it (im guessing one of the cooks). THEN moments after he leaves, the manager walks over 4 times in the span of no longer than 5 minutes for our bill. At this point we’re frustrated and ask him why the rush? His response; “Well I’d like to go home”. We ask him how we’re stopping that from happening while theres two other full tables still being served food, let alone eating it- he walks away from the conversation. Another minute or so goes by and we have our tab payed up in cash (over 500$, a healthy amount of business for sure). My one pal threw an extra $100 as a tip and was informed by us as we had just walked out that tip was included in the bill… so we go back in and see the manager counting the money faster than a machine could dispense it. We ask him how much is there; his reply was $100 short of what we had given. So we ask him to lay the money out on the table and count it… LO AND BEHOLD, its $100 over what he just told us. The manager tried to pocket the extra $100 my friend mistakenly had put down. Absolute joke of a manager, zero intentions of spitting in the direction of this place let alone going...
