📍 El Huarache Loco – Woodland, CA We ordered: 🌮 Machete (stuffed with 3 types of meat, cheese & fresh toppings) 🥪 Torta Cubana (stacked with layers of meats & veggies) 🥙 Gordita (masa filled & topped with onion + queso fresco) ✨ The salsa bar is full of homemade salsas that take every bite to the next level.👨‍🍳 The owner has been in the restaurant game for 20+ years, and it shows. Every plate is made with care, and his warm welcome made the whole experience even better. 📍1226 E Main St, Woodland, CA 95776 ⏰Hours: Mon–Fri: 10 AM – 9 PM Sat–Sun: 9 AM – 9 PM 🔥 Real Mexico City vibes, right here in Woodland! #WoodlandEats #ElHuaracheLoco #FoodieAdventures

On our way to visit nearby Full Belly Farm and we we're advised to bring a picnic lunch. Stopped by thinking of tortas but honestly a pound of barbacoa de borrego (lamb barbecue meat) was a sweet deal. We definitely needed the extra handmade tortillas. Beans were okay. Meat was incredibly tender and flavorful--literally the best barbacoa I've had in California. Salsas were fantastic, especially the lime-heavy red salsa and the creamy green. Just delicious and packaged well for our picnic, including chiles toreados con su cebolla. More than enough for two people (~250 g each) plus leftovers. Will definitely come back specifically for this barbacoa on a weekend!!! 10/10. Friendly counter service as well--muchísimas gracias!

Finally, I found an authentic place to eat and enjoy Mexican food. It reminds me of visiting my grandparents in Mexico. I had the Torta Cubana, which was delicious. I noticed that they use mexican bread, which adds to the authenticity of the dish. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and the music was not too loud. I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I will certainly be coming back.

My mother and I went on 9/26/24. She ordered a dish called a Machete and a Tostada de Pata as well as an Agua de Jamaica to go. She's been craving some chilango style Mexican food and she said this definitely hit the spot and will be coming back even though we live in West Sac haha. The woman who took our order was very friendly and welcoming! The parking lot is a bit small but had no issues otherwise. Recommend giving this...
