On Sunday the 15th, I drove over 550 miles to see my mother. I paid someone $120 to drive my disabled mother to Woodland to meet up with me for a few hours. I thought that Red Leaf look like a high-end café and would provide a great experience for us. The hours on the door said open until 7 PM which we checked as my mother is disabled and can barely walk. Her ride then left. I have a semi-truck which she can’t get in too.
As we ordered, they did not have the things that we wanted on the menu and we had to order other items which were not our first choice. The counter person also got the orders wrong requiring 3 receipts for one one order. In spite of the extremely bad service, I still tip 3+ dollars on a 24 dollar bill.
My mother’s strawberry smoothie tasted like it was made with half rotten berries. We don’t complain as we really just want to catch up. We finally get our food and drinks and before we are even finished eating/drinking, they tell us we have to leave as they are closing at six rather than seven. The male kid was quite snotty about it. I said we would’ve gone somewhere else if we had known that and he said well you have to go somewhere else now. When I asked his name, he smirked and ignored me. I then asked for the manager’s name and the girl gave me their names. My mother who can barely walk had to walk about 500 yards over to Walmart where we grabbed a seat at Subway. I will never stop at any...
Read moreI love the drinks here, coffee bean tastes amazing, but WHY do they always ask for a tip? Yesterday I tried paying in cash and the girl asked me if there was any way I could pay in card. For what? So she could ask me to tip her? We are already paying for our coffee(not to mention that coffees are already expensive), why do we have to feel obligation to leave a tip? I always get so baffled because for me personally I would feel way too dumb to ask for a tip. If it weren’t for the amazing taste of the coffee bean I wouldn’t come here. I get so stressed out anytime I pay because I don’t want to be rude and say no thank you when they ask for a tip but I also don’t want to feel obligated. Since when does every single place out there ask for a tip?? Gone are the days where I ever want to tip any coffee shop because it’s always about getting anything extra from the customers. This is not how...
Read moreHands down, without a doubt, one of the BEST tasting coffees I've ever had and I have tasted many. Just having moved from Oregon and leaving all my usual coffee stops behind, I was a little worried about finding another in a small town with places I have never even heard about, no Dutch Brothers here, and Starbucks has never really been my cup of tea... Or coffee in this case. So when my mother decided to treat us with espresso we literally pulled this place randomly from a small list on maps and Wow, this little town has some real hidden treasures and the coffee could definitely go toe to toe {or cup to cup as the case may be} with any of the many... many places I...
