Sidelines Grille - Woodstock (HWY 92) — Restaurant in Woodstock

Food was great, service was terrible and that seems to be the trend when my fiancé and I come to this location. Today we went for lunch and were sat by the host and told the server would be with us shortly. 10 minutes went by, no server, and the host came back to get our drink orders. 5 minutes later, the serve quickly walks by (never even stopping, which ended up being how she served the whole experience) and slides the glass of water to me and says “by the way I’m your server it’s just crazy right now” and walks away. Shows back up after another 10 minutes to take our orders. Ran past our table twice and offered a “it’ll be out soon”. She seemed to be rushing around an awful lot for a relatively slow restaurant. The two things that really killed the experience - I asked for a lemon for my water (my first water had a lemon, as requested, but the refill she brought did not…not a big deal, but I would have preferred a lemon wedge). She shows up with a salad bowl full of 15+ lemon slices (which she slid across the table in a rush) and gave me a “here honey I brought you a few” and took off again. This felt extremely condescending and dramatic. (I’ve had servers bring me 2 or 3 before but…an entire BOWL?!)After sliding our meals across the table, she rushed off to stand around conversing with the table of cops…right next to us. It would be one thing to fake being busy as an excuse for bad service, but to stand right in front of us and never come back to check? Especially considering she wasn’t their server. After almost 20 minutes of her standing around talking to two Woodstock police officers along with their actual server, she finally said “I guess I should go check on my tables” and did a lap around the place. Inconsistent! I normally go to buffalo cafe because I like the service there. I wanted to switch things up so I went to sidelines with my sister and we enjoyed ourselves. We sat at the bar, the bar tender was cool and the food was good. We had some drinks and ate a piece of cake before we left and I thought to myself I will definitely come back. A week later I came back with my wife and we sat in one of the booth. I orders some wings and fries and I wanted my wings extra crispy and my wife ordered salmon and broccoli. My wings were not crispy and the amount of fries that came with my order could fit in the palm of my hand. My wife enjoyed her salad and our drinks were good, but her salmon was very dry.Our waitress was very nice and I thought to myself it’s just probably an off night and I’ll come back again. Me and my wife came back last night and sat at the booth. There were only 4 tables occupied but there were a good amount of ppl at the bar. Once we sat down we didn’t see our waitress until 13mins after(I was looking at my watch because I was waiting for my brother to text me) she greeted us but her energy seemed as if she didn’t want to be there. We ordered our food and drinks and the food came out within a reasonable time. Our waitress I checked on us only twice and we had to wait a good amount of time to ask for the bill. We ate a pick of cake the cake are always good. I’m big on consistent service and I love going to bars that provide good consistent service. I will go back to sidelines to give it another try because I live 3 mins away and I like to go to places near home, but this time I hope I have the same experience I had when I went...

I live very close to Highlands Grill and go there quite often. In the recent months, they have gotten nothing right! Today I ordered 50 wings. I requested extra blue cheese and extra celery. Didn’t really look at the receipt. Don’t know if they charged me or not. When I went to pick them up, I asked the bartender and the manager to make sure that there are extra celery and blue cheese in the order. Both the manager and the bartender said they checked to make sure there is extra. When I get home, there are two blue cheese in the bag which was awesome! As far as celery, once again, we ordered 50 wings and there were 10 pieces of celery. That would be an average of one piece of celery for Every five wings. As far as extra celery goes, one piece of celery for every five wings I would not consider extra celery. So I decided to go home and let the manager know what the problem was. There is no way to contact the restaurant. They will take orders, but they will not answer their phone. recommend not going here ever.
