While driving across Oklahoma, we love trying new stuff and especially supporting local businesses. While we were in Woodward, our innkeeper suggested several restaurants, although some were closed due to it be being homecoming for the local high school. So Longshots it was. Overall, the aesthetic was really nice. Service was good as were our salads. The mixed greens were really good… Then the entrées. That is where the disappointment comes in. I had the hamburger steak, which was two frozen patties atop one another(they separated quickly and cleanly) with hardly any taste, the consistency of jerky and dry as dirt. My fiancé’s steak was ordered medium, and was served extra well. Couldn’t cut through it. They did offer to remake both. We took them up on the steak (good cut, just prepared incorrectly) but not on the hamburger steak. If two frozen patties put together is the standard, they can serve it else where. Our server said they knew it was overcooked when they brought it out. Hmm… should’ve never happened. Then, I got to sit there and stare at the atrocity for the duration of our meal, as it was never removed from the table. They say it’s normally one of the best places in town. I hope that’s true, but I can only review on my personal experience. Drive...
Read moreToday was our first time in. To be honest, it wasn't our first choice, but the three other places were closed today for some reason. That being said, we were very glad we went. They were pretty busy but, like I said, there were several other places closed. So, looked like everyone went there today. The food was really good, I had the chicken fried chicken sandwich with bbq sauce and pan fried potatoes. Both were delicious. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and the price wasn't too bad either. It's pretty spacious, they have a bar area in the back and a restaurant area in the front. It was a seat yourself situation. We had a group of 10, they got us a table cleaned off and set up pretty quick. They let us know they were short handed, but we still got really good service and the food was hot and fresh. All in all we were very happy and...
Read moreI went here for dinner on a Wednesday. It was fairly empty with three waitstaff on duty. I was greeted as soon as I sat myself and placed a drink order. I could tell the iced tea was fresh. I ordered a ozen of their mild Buffalo wings, which came with a free side. I chose beer battered fries, although the sweet potato fries caught my eye as well. The wings and fries were out in around 10 or so minutes and were hot. I dug in, and much to my delight, they weren't super spicy. I would have liked more of a crunch to the wing, but that's ok. The waitress checked on me once while I was chowing down. When she noticed I had finished, she asked if I wanted an ice tea to go and brought the check. It was a nice meal in a bar setting where they were playing ChiveTv on the big screen and other sports on the smaller screens....
