I love this place! People who I go with love the lunch specials M-Sat, and one loves going on Tuesdays for beans and cornbread.
Me...I love the burgers! I alternate between the Boomer Burger and the Onion Burger, and they never disappoint. A couple of times I have had the hot roast beef sandwich and it's great too. The roast beef is fall apart tender, but not stringy, tough or dry.
The decor is probably original, which gives it that old school diner feel. There's a counter with old round attached swivel stools and booths with seats covered in vinyl and formica looking table tops. Displayed on walls and shelves are old pictures and all sorts of nostalgic Americana items.
Keeping things as is is probably the reason that Pollyanna's has such reasonable prices. Owning the building means that the overhead is less so they focus on good food at good prices instead of decor and remodeling.
Let me add that they serve breakfast almost all day (Seems they stop for a couple of hours during the lunch rush, then resume, but I could be wrong.) The breakfasts are good sized, tasty and very moderately priced...as in not much higher than McDonald's and definitely better!!
We drive an hour a couple of times a week to eat here. The place is popular, so sometimes there's a wait, but not a long wait. All of the waitresses are pleasant and take care of you. Try it! Oh, try their onion rings...
Read moreEveryone my grandma comes to see me we go here, she loves the coffee and usually the staff is very polite. But after todsy we will most likely not go back! The young waitress and the cook were rude, the coffee was old, she didn't even offer to make fresh coffee, and the poor elderly man that sat at the counter was served his food in a Togo tray, he asked why he couldn't eat off a plate like everyone else and the cook rudely told him to talk to his waitress. Me, my gram and my aunt felt so very bad for this man. My gram paid for his meal, I think they gave him something free, but his whole meal should have been free! VERY UPSET!!! NO MORE BUISNESS FROM ME...
Read moreFirst impressions are everything! Unfortunately, my first impressions were not pleasant. This was mine and my families' first time to visit Polly Anna Cafe, the inside is classic cafe style however, we were not told to go a head and sit wherever and we were not welcomed with a "hello" or anything so that was awkward. Our waitress did not introduce her self and did not have a professional attitude. The food was okay and is defiantly homemade but, was not plenty for the amount we paid. We will not be...
