BLACK — Restaurant in Woonsocket

Second time here, never again . After arriving at the restaurant and standing at the bar for over 5 minutes, trying to get the bartenders attention. I was unsuccessful. I don’t understand how you go into a business and you’re not greeted. You’re not acknowledge this lady didn’t even say welcome to BLACK,I’ll be right with you have a seat. Nothing I just don’t understand why the customer service is so nonexistent at this business. There was nothing welcoming about this establishment. There were people hanging out their cars right in front instead of just going to the parking lot. I really hated my experience at business and me and my sister ended up just leaving. This business needs to put more effort in to customer service training for their staff or really making sure that they hire friendly experienced people.

And please if your going to comment back an excuse that you’re “understaffed” or that’s “how your business runs”please save it. We don’t want to hear it. You need to work on making this business better and taking accountability. At this time, this business has lackluster food and drinks one bartender at the bar who doesn’t welcome your customers and ignores them when they wait to ask a question, the bartender also takes food orders facilitates karaoke, and the handles the bar. That’s A LOT!! Send your business help! Nothing about my experience was good. I would not recommend this place to anyone who lives in the area or anyone who may visit Woonsocket. Skip this please ride 5 minutes up the road and get you some Taco Bell. At least they are kind,welcoming, and ready...

Today was our first time trying takeout from BLACK. My husband went to pick up and reported that the staff were not wearing any masks and the owner looked confused to see my husband walk in to pick up his order (with a mask)-ok no big deal. I ordered the bruschetta Cod with mashed potatoes & green beans and he had the chicken parm dinner. When I opened the cod, I noticed there was only one side. I thought it automatically came with green beans because that’s what the picture showed. The owner stated I only chose one side, fair enough, but i went back to the website and it stated, “choose 1 side,” not 2, and the picture shows 2 sides. Maybe they can fix the language or options? Whatever, still no big deal, but the owner gave me bad vibes at first like I was just looking for a refund… for free green beans? Lol… If I wanted to scam u, I would pretend there was a hair, glass, a cockroach or something..?.. I was mostly calling to see if I could pick some up because we live close or a refund for the one side if that was easier. I made it clear that I didn’t care and was being very kind to the owner.. Anyway, this is also our wedding anniversary, and I was excited to try a new place… I was hoping to go back again for the entertainment, but this place was a huge disappointment. I Dont understand why this place has good reviews. My family and I had dinner on a Saturday night and the place was dead, literally two other parties( don’t get all the hype about lines from other reviewers). Our food took one hour to come out, and their excuse was they forgot to take the mushrooms off my steak sandwich. That’s fine, but it doesn’t take 30 more mins to fix that. Secondly, as someone who loves poutine, this poutine was terrible. I got 3 cheese curds and cold gravy on my fries. Much rather go to Stanley’s in cf for poutine. My steak sandwich was okay, but my father had very very dry fried chicken and the roasted potatoes looked like it was from the frozen section. My mom liked the lobster roll but the chowder was terrible. Our waitress was very nice and attentive which was good, but the kitchen is terrible. It seems no one cared about the kitchen as I saw a guy on his phone walk in and out of the kitchen constantly. This is a decent place to grab a drink, but there are much better spots to grab bar and grille food...
