Just got my first “taste” of Caribou Coffee and I don’t plan on returning! For starters, I pull up BEFORE they were to actually supposed to close, and the lady informed me that they couldn’t serve me, although not quite 10p, because they had “minors that they needed to get out.” Since they are still brand new in town, one would figure that they would be happy to get all the business they could, but I completely understand them wanting to close EARLY for that reason. I ever so politely, or so I thought, asked if I could just ask a question about their cocoa for next time. The lady first replied in a very nice tone answering the question “for when you can return of course,” of the flavors they had, plus ones with espresso. I thanked her and let her know that I was actually asking for the young child in the car, because we were just looking for a warm treat on the way home from her sister’s school play. I then turned to my child, and in a PRIVATE conversation, said that we could try Starbucks, because I know she likes their hot white chocolate. Afterwards, as I started to drive away, I overheard the adult employee at the window very loudly stating to the car waiting on their ordered that she “knows Starbucks is closed too, and she’s glad they are,” as she laughed about it. I see nothing funny in the fact that you not only denied us service before closing time, but that you’re glad that the only other restaurant that we know of in town that serves what we wanted was closed! I can promise you that I’ve NEVER had that type of service at Starbucks, and can guarantee that they would have served EVERY car waiting in line before closing time. At least I learned early on what type of employees Caribou Coffee hires, and you can be sure we’ll be sticking with Starbucks...
Read moreI hate to leave a mixed review on one of my favorite coffee spots in Wooster, but there have been consistency issues on some of my recent orders. I'll edit this review if that changes, though!
Lately, when ordering multiple drinks, additions made to one drink will be added to a different one, or just missing altogether. For example, I ordered two coffees the other day: one with half and half and the other with oat milk and sugar. The half and half coffee had sugar but the oat milk didn't. A previous time with the same order, the amount of oat milk added was so imperceptible that it was essentially black coffee.
Another example: Just this morning at around 6:30 AM or so, the coffee I ordered 5 minutes before entering the drive thru was lukewarm at most when it was handed to me. Really hoping it wasn't microwaved, but honestly I don't know how freshly brewed coffee comes out so tepid.
I've had some cups filled so high that coffee will spill out the top and into the car, and others that are a good two inches below that.
Again, nothing disastrous or dangerous here, just some quality control issues that should be very easy to address. The staff at this location is super friendly and always very welcoming, so by no means is this review directed towards any of the individuals...
