The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere, and was really clean (restroom included) and the service was excellent, really attentive, helpful and polite.
I ordered fried chicken momo, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry and garlic and cheese nan bread, and for drinks a pineapple juice and a mango lassi.
Starting with the drinks the pineapple juice is just what you should expect, and the mango lassi was sweet but not overpowering with an excellent balance, strongly recommend.
Now with the chicken fried momo, it came freshly made, and texturally speaking it was awesome, crunchy in the exterior and tender in the interior, the major flaw was the lack of salt, but it came with a sauce that would compensate in the lack of flavor.
The chicken tikka masala was a little to sweat in my opinion, but it could be due to the lack of salt and of spice (I ordered it mild), texturally was great, the chicken was cooked to perfection, and really generous on the sauce.
The chicken curry, following the trend with the rest of items it was lacking salt, but it was cooked to perfection, tender in the inside and generous on the sauce.
The rice was cooked very well it was lose as it should but yet again lacking salt, and the nan bread had the same flaw of lack of salt, but it’s more excusable, because dipped in sauce it will compensate.
Final notes: the major flaw was the lack of salt in most of the dishes, for some it’s just a simple fix adding salt whilst you eat, but for me is something I can’t simply overlook. Besides that great service...
Read moreThis new Indian restaurant is phenomenal and I am so happy we have one near the Tatnuck area that is delicious!
For apps we started with the chicken momos and vegetable pakoras. Momos were your average delicious momos and vegetable pakoras were okay, a little too salty for my taste but the sauces they give you balances it out.
For entrees we ordered medium spiced chicken tiki masala (Of course LOL), medium chicken vindaloo, and spicy baingan bharta (mashed eggplant with spices). Each entree came in a small soup container and with a small soup container of rice as well. ALL THE FLAVORS WERE SPECTACULAR , it tasted like a grandma poured her love into this meal 🥹 Perfect amount of spice and nothing tasted bland. I am a sucker for onion chutney and was so happy they had it. I wanted to cry happy tears with my first initial bite of the onion chutney and just knew everything else was going to be delicious.
Prep time was about thirty minutes. Service was friendly and everyone was so welcoming. I was happy to see a few tables when I picked up my takeout order esp. when they just opened on December 31st. Takeout order total was $96.
I feel like Worcester was lacking in really good Indian food but Desi Bar and Grill really checked off all the marks. I wish them all the success in their...
Read moreDinner for two on a weeknight, staff were a little lost in translation. A Sprite was ordered with the request of the can, the can didn't make it, let it slide. Poori & garlic Naan bread were ordered however the Poori to come out with the appetizers (to go along with the malagatani soup) The waitress advised that the curry dishes come with rice which we acknowledged and still wanted the Poori to come first and the Garlic naan be IN ADDITION to the meal w/ rice and the other meal to come with it's rice. Malagatani soup came out with no Poori, again we made no mention and let it slide. (They overdid their hand with the salt in the soup unfortunately) The curry meals came out, no rice for either which at this point we had to mention to the waitress. The Naan came out, however it was plain and was also mentioned. Boxes were ordered but was brought the bill... The waitress was very apologetic for each infraction thereafter but kept saying "oh I thought", "Oh I heard". They did comp us for the bread in the end but for a birthday dinner celebration didn't want to be so bewildered as we were for clear verbalized communication. Will have to stick to the lunch buffet option...
