We had never eaten here before and ordered tonite for takeout. We had an issue with our order and called them. The lady who we spoke with was so rude and defensive. We had ordered chicken and broccoli with white rice. I have eaten chinese food many times in my lifetime and it always comes in a brown sauce. Apparantly unless you specifically ask for brown sauce they put their chicken and broccoli in a "white sauce" which honestly just looked like a bunch of water in the bottom of it. They also gave me lo-mein instead of white rice. They said they did make a mistake by giving me lo-mein instead of rice. Second issue was that we didn't realize that general tso chicken comes with zero rice. I have never ordered from a chinese food place that has a meal that comes with no rice so when we got home it was quite disappointing. Her solution? Come down, bring back the lomein we made a mistake on and I'll give you a small rice to replace the lo-mein that we accidently gave you. I questioned if she was asking me to pick out all the chicken and broccoli out of the lo-mein so I can bring the lo-mein back to her. She said "ok fine I will make another chicken lo-mein with rice just bring back the one you have. I asked if she could re make the chicken and broccoli with the brown sauce as we had never been there and did not know we had to specify. She said no, combo meals come how they are and cant be changed. Seriously? How much would it have cost them to put the brown sauce on instead of the white sauce? No offer to just throw in a white rice for the general tso chicken just because there was so much confusion with it being our first time ordering. All i can say is that we wont be coming back. mostly for the employees crappy attitude and her unwillingness to help us make things right. All she did was continue to point fingers at us because we didn't "ask ahead of time" or read the website more closely. She just kept saying "thats how we have always done it" OK..... that may be true but this was our first time ever coming there.....certainly not a good way to get a new customer to ever want to...
Read moreWe requested to sit on the patio and were informed that we need to leave and ID or credit card because they have had people eat and run. I am a 28 year old young professional and personally was slightly offended. I have a never been asked to do such a thing at any other restaurant in Worcester or any other restaurant I've eaten at. I tend to wonder if the large family beside us or the young mother & her son had to follow along with the Same policy. However, that was the policy and I was willing to go along with it. I was informed that at the end of my meal I would get my license or card back right away. We eat the food and the was good. The service was attentive. But, I didn't realize until I got all the way out to Barre, Massachusetts that I was not re-issued my license. When calling back the establishment I got a "hello?" I was not informed that I was calling Nancy Chang's and really thought I was calling a cell phone. I had to ask "Is this Nancy Chang's and the girl said "yes". I explained that I'm calling about my ID that was left there and was not reissued to me, that I was not in the area anymore. She says "Yeah we have it." Having to drive 35 minutes from an event that I was at that I could not participate in, because I didn't have an ID was extremely frustrating. All I wanted was an apologetic tone or one sympathetic word. The reason that happened was, because of your policy not because I was forgetful. If you're going to have such a policy you should ensure that you get your customers back...
Read moreI went here pretty late on a Saturday night around 930pm. When we arrived we were told thekitchen is closing in 15 minutes so we had to put our order in immediately. Luckily I knew what I wanted some yummy Chinese duck with vegs and some "spareribs" (the quotation marks are because even though the menu lists thebitem this way be sure to specify bonein or boneless. I said and pointed to spareribs and got boneless... The waiter insisted I said boneless when I said exactly what was in the menu. He didn't offer to fix the problem I assume because the kitchen was closed). My duck was so dry and tasted over microwaved. I took 1 just 1 bite and told the waiter. He said the most they could do was take 10% off!!! I took 1 bite!!!!! I insisted if i was going to pay for it at all I'm taking it home even if it's gonna end up in my food processor for my cats!! The spareribs and general tsao's chicken could've been sweeter but not horrible. I tipped the waiter only because he stayed 15 minutes passed closing for us. The duck is in my fridge waiting for tomorrow's feeding time for my cats. If you're looking for good Chinese in Worcester I suggest ordering take out from Chef Ho on Millbury street. All the places in Worcester that had good sit down Chinese have closed or gone so downhill it's not...
