We've been studying ancient Greece in our homeschool lately, so today we had a feast of traditional Greek foods...olives, salami, sesame bread, tabouli, spanikopita, stuffed grape leaves, grape leaf wrapped fish, and baklava. I happened to see the article from the T&G about Kalamos earlier this week, so my son and I took a field trip there yesterday to shop for supplies. If you're ever in the market for some incredible Greek eats, I highly recommend Kalamos. Luis was so incredibly friendly and helpful. Read moreThe moussaka, spinach pie, and pastichio have zero flavor and they’re not fresh. It was clear they were days old. Louie was friendly, but the two Greek people were rude and didn’t even acknowledge us. They sat there at the counter not even looking at us. It wasn’t a language barrier; they know English because they were literally speaking it to Louie, plus my partner is Greek and we both speak Greek. I got a piece of Moussaka to go the other day and as soon as I got home and went to warm it up, I knew I should’ve gotten two. Please don’t think I wanted to give the second piece to somebody else and share this bounty. That wasn’t it. I was just struck with the sense that there was no way I was going to want to be finished eating this delicious dish after just one piece (despite that they are ample-sized pieces), so I went back and got another one....
