La Scala Ristorante — Restaurant in Worcester

5 of us when to La scala's last night 4 the all you can eat chicken special. The chicken was excellent the french fries excellent, salad excellent. Now for the pasta we were all baffled by how bad the red sauce on the pasta was ( we are all Italian and know what good sauce-gravy is supposed to taste like) considering this is a Italian restaurant. We all scraped it back onto the plate and sent it back and we weren't the only table that did this. The waitress asked us if we wanted more pasta and we all said no we're good. Come on people this is an Italian restaurant the pasta should be outstanding. If they got the pasta on point ( any pasta from a jar would be an improvement) this place would definitely have gotten a 5-star rating.

One more thing the lighting is so bad we couldn't see what we were eating. I don't know what they were going for as far as atmosphere but it was just too dark. There wasn't even a light over our table. With a few tweaks this place could be great. If it's excellent Italian food you're looking for stay away. After reading the menu on-line I was super excited... You see I absolutely love good Italian food. When we arrived we were seated right away. We ordered the summer sangrias which were very nice and packed a little bit of a punch. So far so good....after looking over the menu we decided on appetizers and our main course I was excited and ready to EAT. So the appetizers came out and it was not as impressive as I had led myself to believe :( it all came with red sauce (that tasted like watered down tomato paste straight out of the can) ...I was still looking forward to the main course which was one of their "signature" dishes.... Unfortunately it was covered in the same sauce...after 3 bites I was done. This broke my heart ...you see I was raised not to waste food but I had to leave it behind because that sauce was a sin. I have always loved LaScala but tonight it was a terrible experience. We got there at 7:16 and at 7:48 we asked a waitress to take our order and she said she will send our waitress over. She finally came and we wanted the Wednesday deal Chicken, pasta, salad and fries all you can eat so we wanted to order that and she said we just ran out of chicken, a big party just ordered the last of it. I said maybe if we didnt have to wait over 30 minutes we would have been able to get it. We complained to the hostess and she said I seated you and I dont think it was that long. Like were lying. So we split an antipasto and 20 minutes later we still didn't have our meal. When it finally came, at that point we asked for it to go because it was almost 9:00.
