Food: The dragon mango smoothie is def on the creamy side of things, it’s blended with some coconut so you don’t really taste the mango or the dragon fruit as much, but I came to enjoy it later on as it’s not an overwhelming thing to drink on. Their breakfast menu is pretty simple, I got the breakfast dip, which is actually pretty bland if you don’t dip it in the sauce, which is obviously the point of it. But given that it’s a sandwich, alittle more seasoning on the steak and eggs would be helpful. Service: pretty easy to navigate on the menu, if you’re ordering takeout, you just have to let them know your name at the cashier to pick up the order. Ambiance: it’s like a library café where you can pick any book you want to read while enjoy a nice little meal as you’re studying. I’m glad they were able to expand to something bigger, and have more room to venture and look at other books. Location accommodation: well it is nice that they had expanded to somewhere where most people will come visit, when passing, parking there is not so great, it’s street parking which can become very limited as there’s other businesses that are also trying sharing those parking spots.

I’ve been here a few times, both at the old location in Tatnuck and the new location on Shrewsbury Street. I really want to like this place, but after the last few times I’ve decided it would be my last. Ever since they moved the vibe isn’t really the same, the convenience and quiant feel of a small coffee shop was sacrificed for the allure of operating on Shrewsbury Street. The new location feels a bit cramped with the amount of books and other items on display to sell. Lattes are a hit or miss, their matcha and chai lattes were great enough to go back, but their pumpkin spice latte tasted like a half of a jar of spice mixed with milk. I liked the hummus egg sandwhich more before a recipe change, when it was made with a sesame seed bun and the egg was not in the shape of a square tasting like it came from a school cafeteria. Parking is tough as it is on Shrewsbury Street. Be careful because the hours also change frequently, and are not updated on Google, but through social media.

I've had this café saved on my Google Maps for a while now, and I finally got the chance to try it today. Starting off with the vibes, it's quiet and cozy—a great place to come read or get some work done. Now, onto the food. I tried the Rose Petal Matcha Latte. Although it was a bit on the sweeter side for me, it still tasted amazing. The rose flavor is very subtle, and the matcha flavor is just right. I didn’t get the chance to try their food, but I will definitely be back for that. Lastly, the staff is amazing and friendly, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. UPDATE: Went back to Root and Press, and once again, they did not disappoint! I tried the Vegan Chicken Deluxe with house fries, and my friend got the Farmhouse Burger with fries. Both meals were insanely delicious and the portions were generous. The food is always fresh, and the chef is such a sweetheart! Roots and Press continues to be a go-to spot for fantastic eats and good vibes.

Tried root an press for the first time today. Upon arrival I loved the book’s & coffee theme. Although the place was relatively small, the employees were extremely polite and friendly. Looking through the menu I was disappointed to see that there wasnt really any common meat breakfast items. Like sausage, egg and cheese, eggs, sausage and home fries… things like that. They seem to favor vegan and vegetarians. Maybe that’s also their target audience? Idk. But as a meat eater, I was disappointed. The meat items they did have were extremely expensive. $17-$20 for breakfast items is mad when is comes to a coffee shop in my opinion. Contrary to the vegan and vegetarian items which were $7-$12. Seems like meat eaters get slightly punished there lol. I bought a 20oz coco mocha latte… and let me tell you… it was AMAZING! Hands down the best latte I have EVER had and I’ve been on a recent search for best coffee shops in Massachusetts for a while now. It’s a hobby of mine. I was shocked at my first sip. It was delicious. You get a hint of coconut at first, then the mocha comes in after, an the steamy milk aftertaste… it was very good. I loved it. Overall I give this place 4 stars. Mostly because of the latte. I think there food menu should offer common breakfast sandwiches and there food prices should...

I have come here several times now to work remotely, enjoy some delicious food, and purchase items from the retail area.

Pros: the food and drinks are high quality. Everything I have had has tasted delicious, generous portions, and quality ingredients.

Friendly staff

Unique retail area- I have purchased items for myself as well as gifts. The selection has a decent variety of unique and quality items.

Inviting atmosphere

Cons: parking is not ideal. They have no designated lot and street parking on Shrewsbury St can be a pain, but you can usually find something, just might take some searching.

Prices for food and drink are a little high. I am a foodie, eat out quite a bit and don’t mind spending money on good quality food. The prices are just a bit steep, for example it was cost $24 for a turkey sandwich and iced coffee. Not outrageous, but really?

Their wifi is not reliable. Most times I am coming here to eat and work and the wifi is not great. Not fast and the last time I went there it was cutting in and out and I actually had to leave because I could not get work done.

Overall this place is worth a visit. The food is good, retail area is great, atmosphere is Friendly and inviting. Just be prepared to look for parking, spend some money, and not have...

TASTE - 1 star - because of TOO SALTY OIL IS NOT FRESH VERY SMELLY AFTER MULTI BATCHES OF FRYING FRIES ARE NOT FRESHLY CUT IN THE KITCHEN ( CAME IN THE MORNING AS CONFIRMED BY ONE OF THE STAFF) FRIED JALEPENO WAS SMELLING AND NOT PROPERLY FRIED.

Staff - 1 star We want to customize the burger to put raw onions...the staff mentioned they do not have raw onions but they have saute onion...not able to understand why no raw onion but saute onion ( but i think saute onion are chargeable and they still charged me) WE DID NOT COMPLETE THE FOOD...BEFORE WE TOOK OUR PLATE AND WENT TO TRASH ALL THE LEFT OVER FOOD...I THOUGHT TO GIVE A FEEDBACK ABOUT THE FOOD...ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBER WAS SO RUDE AND IGNORANT THAT HE WAS NOT EVEN LISTENING TO WANT MY FEED BACK WAS....I MENTIONED TO THAT STAFF MEMBER THAT I DO NOT NEED MONEY BACK AND ASKED HIM TO LISTEN ABOUT THE...
