Papa Gino's — Restaurant in Worcester

Papa Gino’s like many holds a special place in my heart since childhood. Nothing out of the ordinary but always great tasting pizza. The reason I wanted to leave a five star review was because of the exceptional customer service I received from the young man taking orders. I am unsure if he was the manager or not. I also didn’t catch his name but I am very grateful. As soon as the order was ready to pick up, he noticed I was still parked outside and handed me the pizza box personally. I was having a very long day taking care of my two toddlers and baby sister but he took out of his time to bring me the pizza. He then went above and beyond when I said thank you but that I was still going to go back in anyways to get some plates for the kids. He said he would get them for me and asked for how many plates I needed. He came back with the plates and said have a nice day with a beautiful smile on his face. These small but very detailed gestures truly brightens someone’s day and I just want to say thank you so much. My girlfriend and I typically order a cheese pizza and flavored tenders for takeout. We must have ordered a good half a dozen times and have never been disappointed! I personally love the Nashville hot because it’s not over hot and not too wet of a sauce like certain places over do it with red hot or buffalo. My girlfriend loves the sweet chili and I think it’s a pretty good nice sticky type of sauce.

Papa Gino’s to me makes me feel like it’s almost a Greek/Italian hybrid if you will for family dinner time. The food is the best of both flavors if you are looking for food not too rich and not too cheesy. Food is also always packed in nice sturdy cardboard boxes better than Domino’s.

I work in retail so I see a lot of faces come & go throughout the evening and I happen to see a gentleman with reddish hair, some facial hair, and glasses shop for groceries where I work and he is always very nice to me even late at night. That really stands out to me because a person’s persona is important. Whoever that is deserves a raise because they are very humble and professional. I placed an order online for delivery tonight, and my confirmation email estimated delivery in about 45 minutes (same as when I placed order). This location has been sending their deliveries to 3rd parties like DoorDash & Uber eats. My dasher contacted me after waiting 15 min for my order and then being told they’re very behind and it would be an additional 45 min - 1 hour! I called the store and was told they only had 1 pizza maker working and the manager was gone, it was actually going to be 1 hour & 30 mins until my order was ready for delivery service to pickup. I said it’s already been 40 mins since I placed this order, he said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do. I canceled my order. I hope the manager learns how to staff appropriately for a Friday night! This is horrible customer service! It is also horrible to leave non management staff to deal with headaches...
