We hosted a large family surprise 80th birthday celebration at Blue Island Beer Company. It was the perfect unique space, a huge upgrade from a traditional banquet space. Our guests ages ranged from babies-seniors and the space was great for everyone. There was plenty of space to mingle, eat, take photos, and the kids were able to run and play. Blue Island Beer Company is truly a hidden gem in this city. I've never been poured a beer I didn't like, and never been poured a beer by an unpleasant person. Very cool microbrewery hand-built by Bryan Shimkos and Alan Cromwell. Their dark lager is the lightest-on-the-tongue dark beer you'll probably ever have. We liked the Pre-Prohibition Amber Ale also - hearty but not too hoppy. If you like hoppiness, the hops jump out of the glass of their IPA.
