Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat. The cashier is a bit cold & I ended up waiting for what seemed like 10 minutes at the register while nobody was manning it. There was this weird tension & I have no clue why, especially this early in the morning. As far as the food goes, it is made fresh with tons of ingredients. They serve really big portions so you get your money's worth (albeit their prices reflect the portion sizes so they might seem overpriced to new customers.)
The chicken quesadilla is the best quesadilla I've had in a long time. The mixture of cheeses was perfectly melted & created the foundation for a superb quesadilla. The quesadilla includes two homemade sauces: a bland green sauce & a bland red sauce. The skirt steak burrito on the otherhand could use some work. The steak is super salty, the rice dry due to being undercooked (literally was almost raw rice) & it's an overall bad burrito. They also packed the burrito with rice & only gave a sliver of everything else including meat. The only good quality is that the flour tortillas are warm & fluffy.

Read moreEl Don was recommended but we were warned it was expensive. We went there on a Monday night and got great food. A little pricey but delicious steak tacos, chicken quesadilla, beans, rice and salsa. Couldn't wait to go back. Went back a week later and ordered chicken flauta with beans on the side. The chicken was good but not as moist as quesadilla and seemed to be lacking the great spices (not heat, just flavor) and the beans were horrible and bland. I have since been warned that the apparent reason for this is 3 different cooks and no specific recipe for them to follow. Each makes the food the way they like. Cook on first visit was spot on, cook on second made literally the blandest refried beans I've ever tasted and cut back on chicken seasoning. El Don owners need to sit down with their cooks, pick "the recipe" and make them all stick to it. Haven't decided if I'll go back again. I...
Read moreStopped in around 6:20pm and it was our first time trying this place out. The parking lot is well lit and they have plenty of parking and even offer a drive thru. Aside from the staff, the place was pretty empty but it was very clean. We learned that if you come in, Mon-Thurs and order a chicken combo, you get half a chicken for free. We ordered to go. The chicken combo comes with your choice of either refried beans or charro beans (we paid extra to have 1 of each) and it also comes with rice, a pack of tortillas, pickled onions, grilled jalapeños and two salsas. This was more than enough for our family of three. The charro beans and rice are REALLY good and the chicken is well seasoned, flavorful and not at all dry. This was our first time here, but definitely...
