El Coyote Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Worth Township

The staff is indeed racist and as a result I will be filing a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice-Civil Rights Division. I am an African American Woman. I entered this restaurant on 7-27-23 at around 9:20. They don't close until 10pm. The minute that I walked in the cashier stated that myself and another guy (white guy)had to order our food to go the minute we walked in, there is no signage that suggest that this is what we have to do. She said that the lobby was closed, I found that strange because I had visited the restaurant before I was permitted to sit down and eat after 9pm. I ordered my food. As I waited for my food they laughed to each other about what had just happened. Before I left I asked if that was how things went with the lobby being closed, she said the lobby is closed at 9pm I made sure to mention that I had eaten at the restaurant after 9pm before and it was never mentioned that I could not . So I took my food and ate it in the car in the parking lot. At about 9:40 I attempted to order more food and at that time I was told that the cook had cleaned the grill with chemicals and that they could not fix me anymore food so I walked out and sat in my car because a man who was Hispanic like them had pulled up and went in to order. I watched from my car as he ordered, paid and waited for his food to be cooked. He then walked out with food after I was told that they could not make me any food. This is a perfect example of discrimination based on race. People fought hard for us to have equality and that's why there are laws in place to stop this type of behavior. It is unacceptable and I will take the steps to make sure that no one else has to write reviews like this on or the other ones that I have read the are echoing the same sentiments. This restaurant did not provide any pleasant food at all! I was completely disappointed with the quality and taste of Mexican food here. My partner and I ordered the enchiladas de mole and quesadillas de asada and al pastor. From the second I received the enchiladas they looked a mess, it was not nicely presented. You couldn’t even see the tortillas and once I took a bite I couldn’t even taste anything but cheese. There was sooo much cheese I couldn’t taste the mole and tortilla. I then tried my partners quesdilla and the al pastor was nothing special. I didn’t even want to continue eating at all and wanted to just leave. I literally took one bite of the enchiladas and that was enough to put me off from eating it. The flavor of the enchiladas was just as bad if not worse than they looked. I’ve had enchiladas at home and at other restaurants, NEVER have I had them be as messy and bad tasting as these here. My partner got up to ask for boxes to-go, I really thought the workers would ask how our food was because once again we did not stay long at all to eat, but no they didn’t ask. I honestly didn’t want to say anything about being very displeased with the food quality and taste because I’m not sure what the workers would do to make this better. I was very disappointed with the Mexican food here, I feel like the flavors are not authentic to our Mexican culture. I think they use way too much cheese instead of focusing on the correct flavors, I really should’ve been able to taste mole on my food.

This is (was-keep reading )my new burrito joint. My buddy insisted that I try it again since it's been a year or two. Been there 3x in the last 2 weeks. I'm tired of the rest of the places locally. There food is consistent and hot. When you ask for hot sauce you get Hot Sauce. The little red containers are awesome. The food has good flavor. The size is perfect. The chips are ok. If they were fresh out of the oil they would get another 🌟. When you're tired of the rest give them a try. Note 8-8-2017 stopped in and the meat tasted old.
