HMD Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Worth Township

After seeing the menu online decided to stop in & get burgers to go. Ordered two hdm 8oz burgers. Burger was awesome & perfectly done however, they might use anchovies in the aioli that’s spread on the bun. I would definitely next time order w/out. Anyways, ordered a coors light, glass of ice & tomato juice on the side. Bartender was friendly said he was very busy & it would be a moment, no worries, been a bartender, I understand. They did however, give me the beer & told me they didn’t have tomato juice only Bloody Mary mix. I said I’ll try it! After a little while I asked someone else who came behind the bar for the rest of my drink order. After tasting the beer w/the mix it wasn’t a flavor I could drink & ordered the espresso martini from the original bartender. I must say was one of the best I’ve had! Received my to go order, paid the bill however, after tipping & signing I realized I was charged for the beer. Now, another employee was behind the bar, I spoke to them about the charge & my inability to drink it cause of the Bloody Mary mix. They said that’s what I ordered & & there wasn’t anything they could do. They said they would talk w/the bartender. After I waited a bit the original bartender came out. I explained what I shared w/the other employee & they said that since I poured the beer & mix together the beer charge couldn’t be removed, hmmmm, even a dive bar wouldn’t have charged for the beer. The employee became angry w/me & very unpleasant, I had not raised my voice or become disrespectful. I was taken aback by their behavior. I angrily took my bill back & scratched out the tip. Working in service this is something I’ve Never done! As they walked I away I asked again why they became so very angry & rude. They said, I was! After doing a little tit for tat, as their walking away they tell me the other bartender told them i was disappointed w/the espresso martini??? In my conversations w/both employees no mention of the martini came up, only the beer! Bottom line, beautifully decorated, good food & pleasant atmosphere. Terrible...STAY AWAY. We were there for our grandson's Christening this past Sunday. The staff had a hard time keeping up with replenishing the food. We hand a taco buffet which should have been easy to keep the food stocked in the trays. Instead, they waited until the tray of food ran out before making any more. We had to wait 15 minutes in line for them to bring out tortillas. When they finally brought them out, there were 12 in the bowl. with 8 people still in line, the 12 tortillas didn't go to far. The toppings were completely empty before restocking. We spoke with staff at the bar and were told that they were making more and to be patient. Several people left the function without eating because it took so long to serve and they had to be somewhere else. Any other place would have had them fed on time and leaving with full stomach's. The drinks were in plastic throw away cups if you ordered them in the party room but if you walked into the bar in the next room, the same drinks were served in nice glassware. My mother in-law used the handicapped women's bathroom and discovered that there was no toilet paper in the stall when she needed it. Thank God other family members were in the stall next to her to help. Needless to say my son and daughter in-law were horrified with everything. This definitely left a lasting impression on their first child's Christening. We will NEVER attend another function at Jack...

I have never been so insulted or felt like i was in danger in my life. I was mistreated and verbally assaulted. I was peaceful all night on my PC Game. @12am the bar maid friends come in and i could here about a party and some drama to do with a male in this barmaids life. She went from nice to ugly so fast she closed down the bar at 12pm and forced the crowed out. She asked me to leave i was shocked do to company hours. So i agree and closed out and gave a good tip. So i guess i took to long to finish my beer and she told me to finish my beer as she was serving her friend patron shot at this time. P. S. she already closed out the till. I asked why you serving them and making me close out? so rudely She came over and said i am waiting on him to finish his beer. I told her i will take my time as she grabbed it from my hand and i grabbed it back. At this time her male friend finished his patron shot and stud up and walked over in a hostile approach. My survival mode kicked in and i prepared to go into combat and when i stud up she stole my wallet off the bar. The male friend backed down after seeing what he was dealing with. i picked up my phone to call the police for her stealing my wallet after she seen. she gave me back my wallet.
