Mickey's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Worth Township

My mom used to take me here as a kid. It was nearby and cheap. I didn’t go for a very long time. But when I decided to back to college this place popped back up on my radar as it was on my drive home. And let me tell you, I’m never going back. They only accept cash. Which most people do not have anymore. I understand the reasoning being that credit card readers have fees. And cash only lowers the price. They have an ATM but when you need to use the ATM you’re paying a $3 fee anyway to get cash.

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is how disgusting it is. The place is sticky, old, and greasy. No one uses gloves, and despite what the owner claims in his responses to customers on here, I have seen him use the register then touch my food without washing his hands. I believe he does, but when I saw him go from register directly for my food I know for a fact he didn’t wash his hands between. And hand sanitizer is absolutely not enough. Don’t go here, go to the Windy City down the road. They have better food, and it feels at least a little bit...

So I went in to order a take out for myself and family. I walked in and about 3 people infront of me. I ordered and stepped to the side as another 4 people were behind me. That's a great thing! They are busy!! Well.... I stood and watched "George" WITHOUT gloves press buttons on an old register, take peoples cash, hand back change THEN lift buns, pickles, tomatoes and every other food item WITHOUT WASHING OR SANITIZING HIS HANDS!!! DUUUUUDDEEE!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! YOU WORK IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY!! HOW F'ING DISGUSTING!!! WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER TOUCHING MONEY AN A NASTY OLD REGISTER BEFORE MANAGING PEOPLE'S FOOD! WE MAY AS WELL LICK THE MONEY AND YOUR FACE!!

I totally called the health inspector and demanded a FULL inspection. Just based on the 10 minutes watching all the germs pass your unsanitary hands I can only imagine how bad their grade will be!!

If you don't wanna follow protocol and wash you hands when coming into contact with food, people and money then stick on gloves before you...

I normally don't right bad reviews but if I get treated a certain way I'm gonna speak out. The food was good, with that being said, I don't know if the guy who works there is an owner or manager but WOW did he give us a HUGE attitude and was watching us like a hawk like we were criminals! Then we asked for some foil to wrap our food and a bag and I've NEVER got a worse attitude from an employee for just asking for a bag. This is my second time in there and he was just as nasty the first time as well. I'll never go back there again for that reason alone... It's a shame to have people working in this industry that are just miserable with their jobs that they take it out on the customers. And it wasn't just me I saw his attitude with the other customers as well. I would fire him if he was my employee. Horrible way to treat paying customers. But the man with the red cubs hat I give props to he has a awesome...
