I bought a chocolate-dipped waffle cone at the Kedzie store in Evergreen Park. It was supposed to have 2 scoops. They skimped on the scoop size. When I pointed to the picture of the cone on their board, they said that they made the cones bigger since then. But the picture was of a temporary special item, so it had to be a recent picture. It will be a long time -- if ever -- before I go back. Their prices are high enough that they should be able to give you what their advertising says you will get!
POSTSCRIPT: The Oberweis store manager quickly responded [excerpt]: "I will be following up with my team to make sure that we are scooping accordingly to what is expected."
I don't exactly know what that will mean, but since they were nice enough to respond, I'll go back there and get the same items (maybe a different flavor 😁) and see whether they're scooping better. Because I have their response email, I can continue to follow up. I'm increasing the review to two stars because they did respond.
2022-05-10 I did go back about a week ago because their response email invited me to try again. So I thought I'd give them another chance. They did make the scoops better, and I'm happy with what they did, so I'm increasing the stars. I still like the store in Orland Park better; they are friendlier and they "scoop big", making a better overall experience. But they're much further away for me. (But they do have drive-up, I think). This Evergreen Park store is also worth going to now, so I'll alternate between the stores on a whim whenever I decide to go. BTW, the Evergreen Park store had a new manager when I went there on this visit. SUMMARY: Since I'm giving advice, I'd say to give the Evergreen Park store a chance, as they were much better...

Read moreWe have been devoted Oberweis customers for many years and have always had incredible experiences at the Evergreen Park store. Tonight I spent $65!!!! And instead of getting 4 shakes and 2 scoops of ice cream I received 4 flavored milks, with cookie straws in them already, 3 appearing identical even though they had different ingredients, the appearance that perhaps there was a little bit of whipped cream on top, the ginormous openings not secured with stickers to ensure nothing entered the shakes while DoorDash was delivering them. So I called. And JASMINE the manager was leaving and wouldn’t speak to me but made another staff member take the call. When I asked why the manager would be leaving before the staff during a close, the staff member said she hadn’t left they were all leaving together. So she left a random staff member holding the bag. Who said that they had a rush and she understands the products weren’t properly prepared. I explained I want my $65 back. 1 of the shakes tipped over and was so lacking in ice cream it spilled all over my stove top because it had the viscocity of flavored milk.
