Pluto's — Restaurant in Worth Township

I have eaten at Pluto's from time to time ever since they opened, and today was the first time I actually sat down inside the place.

I swear the experience was so good I had to write about it! First, the gentleman at the register (owner, perhaps?) told us he was filling in for someone who had called off, and he was remembering what to do at the register. No problem...he was doing a great job.

So once my family and I ordered, we found a booth by the window and they brought our food out to us. The same guy who was at the register brought everything out, and let me say that I love when restaurants are passionate about their food. He clearly enjoyed letting is know that the Italian beef is fresh, as was the pulled pork I had. He also let us know the chili is homemade, and it clearly tasted wonderful. Let me tell you...when someone is this passionate and clearly enjoys serving people his/her food, that makes the experience all that more enjoyable. You want to know how good the chili was? My 82-year-old mother-in-law gave it her stamp of approval...and it takes a lot for her to show people love when it comes to food!

Anyhow, my wife and I split the chili cheese fries, I had the BBQ pulled pork with bacon, my sister-in-law and my wife both had a burger with mustard and raw onions, and my mother-in-law had the Italian beef/sausage combo with giardinera and chili. The food was awesome!!! You know when food is so good that you have to do that thing where you let your stomach relax and expand? That was us today.

One more thing, though I do not know the aforementioned gentleman's name, his passion for his food really made me take notice. I know that some people have said in their reviews of Pluto's that the food is expensive...but I would argue that the food is excellent and the customer service was even better. Thus, I have no problem paying a little more for great food and great service.

This is a nice spot to both and eat enjoy the decor. Feels like it's frozen in time with this retro-space theme interior, but very comforting to be in. The customer service was kind and welcoming to us on entering. Inside, there was TVs playing both movies and general channels for entertainment. There was a small children's area for kids where they could eat and watch movies, and even a shelf with books to indulge into. Books are commonly featured around the dining area, mostly matching the space-like theme of the restaurant.

The food was very simple, but pleasant. Pricing on everything I had ordered felt fair for the portions I was given, so I have no complaints to list. I ordered their "Meteor Burger" alongside a side of both fried mushrooms and friend mac n' cheese bites. The Meteor bigger was a fairly sized 3-layer burger (each patty was 1/4 lb) and tasted as you would expect. It was pretty solid, but I think I saw will do perfectly with it. The fried mushroom's breading was crisp outside, but felt slightly under inside, leaving a strange texture for a bite. The mushrooms themselves were very flavorful and juicy. The mac n' cheese bites were exactly what you'd expect, deep fried mac n' cheese shaped triangles of goodness. Simple, but a good side nonetheless.

The gyro platter? Around this area, where many places serve gyros, was one of the best around. Piled very high and loaded up with meat, sauce, onion, and tomato, the gyro was incredibly flavorful and stood out over everything else I had ordered thus far. I highly recommended coming here just to try the gyro alone,...

I have been working in Oak Lawn for 5 years. Pluto’s has always been my go to place for lunch. Love their salads and Greek chicken over rice. A little pricey but I loved their food. Last week Friday 9/10/2021 I ordered through Uber Eats a chicken breast salad with extra chicken. While eating my salad I bit down on something hard so I thought it was a pieces of the grilled chicken. Wrong it was a FINGER NAIL !! I bit done on someone’s fingernail. Called the restaurant and told them about it they told me the manager was out of town and that they’ll contact Uber Eats I am guessing to get my money back ?? Not sure, left my name and number so the manager can call me. It’s Wednesday 9/15/2021 no phone call no refund. Issued a complaint with Uber and they said they couldn’t issue me a refund but that they’ll contact the restaurant. Just so disappointed my daughter and I usually eat there at least once a week. I am guessing gloves are optional for the workers prepping the food there. Needless to say I am sadly not going to order from there anymore or recommend anyone else...
