It’s hard to find cuz in a little mall 4 stores and it’s in the corner . Drive past it all the time and never noticed it (it’s across street from the US PO) SO, what a little gem , 3 of us ordered different foods and EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT !!! We go out to all kinds of eateries , food trucks in Hawaii to Michelin restaurants in Paris, not bragging , but I know quality and nicely seasoned food ! It’s not fancy , so ambience is nothing really , but we were more interested in food , not ambience ! The Guacamole was how I make it at home , simple so it’s not a salad , it pure AVOCADO SOME SOUR CREAM TINY BITS IF TOMATO AND SALT TO TASTE !!!!! Served with crispy plantains , that won us over stat ! We ordered Empanadas beef shrimp and chicken and again we were loving them ! We had chicken burrito , it was pretty darn big with pretty darn great flavors ! Loved the fact that it wasn’t that shredded mystery chicken meat IT Was real pieces of flavorful chicken in the burrito , as well as some chicken tacos we also ordered! The steak burrito was also delicious , I usually eat half cuz they are so big, but the flavor was so good , I kept gorging ! SO, everything we ordered was delicious , we were surprised that we didn’t know about this gem ! BUT WAIT!!!!! They make their own cakes and pastries , why stop now , have to taste desert with a nice Cappuccino . I’m not a desert person , but they were good ! I ordered the tres leche cake with pistachio's, it was tasty , but too moist and it was sitting in the milky stuff ! It was tasty , but we loved the food and appetizers so much more ! Next time we will try a different desert with our Cappuccino ! So, this place is a must try , because you most certainly will come back as we will. Prices are reasonable and good size portions ! We / I will definitely be back if just to get a...
Read moreUpdate I am changing my review based on the owner's quick response and concern. They were able to turn my situation into a teachable moment and I appreciate that. It is a nightmare finding the perfect food for my picky son.. and he fell in love with those fries (the new batch) so we will be back again soon. Thank you from my son and myself for taking time to acknowledge the issue and find amends.
Original PostThis post is mostly geared towards the service rather than the food.
When we got there, I asked for Carne Asada Fries which is the Papas Locos with steak instead of chicken. I read the menu a few times to make sure that what came on it was something that my son would eat. When it was brought out it had lettuce, cilantro, and onions on it. Lettuce for "me" is fine... lettuce for my autistic 12 year old is a red alarm fire situation.
I told the girl at the counter that this has lettuce on it (which was not one of the ingredients on the menu) she told me well lettuce is good for you and continued to walk away. MAAM SAY WHAT! I wanted to clap back but ignorance could never make me stoop so low, so I politely explained that lettuce is not good for my Autistic Child who by the way just had a lettuce meltdown less than 24 hours ago because of lettuce on a burger. Before you try to tell me what is "good" for me, know me and because you don't, you had no right.
So to wrap it up, customer service, is a 0 star, the girl act like she dont want to be there anywhere. Food is decent, would have loved to explore more but that was a serious turn off. The place is cute but im guessing someone is trying to save a dollar cause where is the heat! It was like a...
Read moreWe went to Sazones, a delightful Puerto Rican halal restaurant that never fails to impress me. It’s one of my family’s favorite restaurants. And once again from the moment we sat down, the experience was full of rich flavors and warm hospitality.
Each dish we sampled was packed with authentic, vibrant flavor. The Mofongos were a particular favorite, hearty, well-seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. The Birria tacos stood out as well, with a deeply savory taste that everyone at the table loved. Even my kids, who can be quite selective with food, found dishes they genuinely enjoyed. The chicken quesadillas were a hit with them, while my tween daughter couldn’t get enough of the Birria Ramen, a creative and delicious fusion that she’s still talking about. I chose the flautas dinner, which started off a bit dry but was quickly elevated by the flavorful sauces served on the side.
The service was equally impressive, friendly, attentive, and thoughtful throughout. I especially appreciated the charming details, like the green backdrop for photos, which added a fresh and stylish touch to the ambiance.
For dessert, we picked up a box of cupcakes, which were tasty and reasonably priced when bought in bulk. While they didn’t quite steal the show, I’ve previously tried their tres leches cake, a gift from a friend, and it was absolutely divine. I’d highly recommend trying it on your next visit.
Sazone’s continues to offer such a wonderful dining experience, combining bold, satisfying cuisine with a welcoming environment. I'm especially glad my children enjoyed it as much as I did, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to try even more...
