Sopoong is my newly found local love! It is clean, the staff is friendly, and most importantly, it's dee-lish-us! We tried a little bit of everything our first day stopping by, from the mochi-nuts to the corn dogs and smoothies. All items we tried were on point and wouldn't change a thing. The mango banana smoothie, ($7-$8), was expensive but so good that you can taste the fresh fruit and some type of custard mixed with it. The Mochi-nuts are airy, chewy, and flavorful. They're so soft and melt in your mouth. I have to try all the flavors. We tried the strawberry one and the sprinkle one. I could eat a bunch without noticing. You'd literally have to stop me. The corn dogs were the star of the show, for sho. You can add your own ketchup or mustard (available in the seating area), but you won't miss them. You do have to wait, as these are made to order, but it's worth it. They were steaming hot and fun to eat. If you have a small mouth like me, good luck taking big bites, LOL. You can get an actual hot dog inside or basic cheese, I love the option! We tried the Truffle Potato Parm one and a Hot Cheeto one. Let me tell you, you HAVE to try these. The cheese pull struggle is real, and I regret not recording my first bite. The texture, the crunch of the corn dog, is amazing, especially the Truffle Potato Parm one. My Hubs and I got these as a mid-day snack and didn't eat dinner that night. They're so heavy and filling (I'm not complaining!). I'm already planning my next trip at Sopoong, I can't...
Read moreI have to agree with some of the other reviews that the most stellar aspect of this place is the customer service. Incredibly friendly people running this place. The food is equally amazing dont get me wrong! We tried an assortment of juices, strawberry and blueberry mochi donuts, Korean hot dogs, dukbokki, and bulgogi kimbap. I really really enjoyed everything. Korean hot dogs are a favorite of mine and I really enjoyed theirs (I got the potato one). I wish I lived closer so I could be a regular but I absolutely will stop by any time I am close. I need to go back and try the chicken kimbap too!
Also if you have never tried a Korean hot dog you havent lived lol. It will change your life. Its more similar to a corndog than what you think of an American hot dog is on a roll.. The batter doesnt have cornmeal in it and is very fluffy but crispy, and you can get all sorts of variations/addons to it depending on the place - most will have the potato one which I think is the best. They dip the hot dog in the batter and roll what is pretty much chopped up french fries on it and fry it, lightly dust with salt and a bit of sugar. I get the one that is half beef dog and half cheese and put a bit of honey mustard on it. I am telling you its incredible. Stop by this place even if youre not familiar with Korean...
Read moreSopoong is fantastic! Since I stumbled upon it a few months back, it has quickly become my regular spot for coffee, donuts, bubble tea, and corn dogs. Really any time I need an afternoon snack. I have even come here to do work from time to time because the store is usually quite relaxed. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have a stamp card program where when you purchase a dozen donuts enough times, you earn a reward. I am well on my way to getting enough stamps. I bring in a dozen from time to time for my co-workers to rave reviews.
They also always have a good variety of donut flavors, including seasonal varieties and flavors I haven't had at other places (e.g. lemon ginger, peach, etc...). The corn dogs are also great too. It's lighter than a western-style corn dog and has more flavor options, which I really enjoy. Overall, the food is fresh and tasty. The staff are very kind. The aesthetic is quite cute. Highly recommend everyone...
