I rarely write reviews, but I felt it was necessary to mention the horrible bad attitude and incompetence of the wait staff that we encountered on Saturday night. Our server was Jorge, and he was not only annoyed that we needed service, but he screwed up our orders. He also barely knew how to open our wine bottle. We found a ton of cork inside & he was clueless. All our food came out together, and everything was wrong. We sat waiting for an explanation and some sort of acknowledgment, but he pretended that he did nothing wrong and looked annoyed with us. We had to ask the bus girls for help, yet they couldn't understand English. The bus girls basically did everything for us and not him. The only reason we know his name is Jorge is from our bill. He was successful at turning our evening into a "bad taste" in our mouths. We attempted to ask for help from the other waitress who kept walking. She completely ignored us as well. We overheard her table complaining also. We finally got our check, which took another long torturous wait . These prices and horrible incompetent servers constantly change. No organization, just chaos. It's a shame the father, who was the original owner, had such a different approach, and I remember him when I was a kid. This was the worst dinner date night experience we've had in a long time. They need better professional servers and a few more servers working cause these two by far can't handle it. We planned on ordering takeout for our kids & their friends, but we couldn't get any service, so we decided to order from elsewhere. We ordered online from Rosario's just right across town. We've always received a warm welcome & great service there. They have professional waiters and great Italian food at Rosarios. We regretted not going there to begin with. Also, we booked our next Monthly Catered office party thru them, and we love to support small businesses around us. We needed to share this because it's a huge disappointment. The horrible bad attitudes of wait staff that don't care or attend to their guests. They are overwhelmed & incompetent. We couldn't find a manager, and the counter staff was a bunch of teenagers. It was just a final and last dinner for us there. There is no need to torture...
Read moreHave been ordering from this restaurant almost weekly for a while and the food is good but very expensive. Recently we ordered a deli platter that the menu said included "Mortadella, prosciutto, soppressata, genoa salami, parmigiano reggiano, kalamata olive provolone, fresh mozzarella". The platter we received had Turkey, ham and roast beef, with cubes of cheddar, Swiss, and pepper jack and in the center there were 5 small pearls of mozzarella and some olives. My husband didn't notice when he picked it up because the lid was covered in condensation. We were bringing this to a friend's in Philadelphia and didn't notice til we were getting in the car to leave. My husband called to complain and was told by the manager "that's how it comes and no one ever complains" when my husband told him that that wasn't an acceptable answer and we'd like to be charged an appropriate amount for what we received. The manager offered to take off $5. My husband continued to try to talk to him and the manager kept interrupting him repeateding that no one else complains. My husband gave up and I called back. I informed him that I order weekly from their restaurant and that this is false advertising and poor customer service. He repeated to me the fact that no one else complains about this platter. I told him that I didn't care what other people say, this is not even close to what we ordered. He suggested I bring it back. I told him we were already on the road to Philly and it was wildly out of our way to return. I asked to be charged appropriately for a platter of deli meat that I could have gotten at the grocery store. He said something along the lines of "I don't understand why you're upset, it's still food". We continued arguing for a few more minutes, during which he tried talking over me and at one point said "oh my God" in disbelief that I was upset at all. At which point I hung up after informing him that he had...
Read moreI booked a party for 11am on a Saturday for "pizza with santa". When I booked party I told them it would be about 30 people - 3 & 4 year olds and their parents. And I told them Santa would be coming. They said no problem.
I called a week before the party and told them it would be 21 kids and one or two parents per kid and Santa. They said no problem.
A few days before I stopped in and spoke to the night manager in person and again told them what to expect. Again, they said no problem.
The day of the party came. While we were there only two other groups came in for a total of 5 people. They sat in the other room.
When bill came there was a surprise "non food" charge of $150. When I questioned it the manager said he lost business because we were there ( he did not - the 2nd dining area was empty except for 5 people). Plus we were there spending almost $400 so he did not lose any business - we were his paying customers. I told him I wasn't paying it because I spoke to 3 different people at 3 different times and no one told me there would be a charge. He also said "well you brought wine and I had to give you wine glasses". It was 4 wine glasses and it's a byob restaurant!! Does he charge all his customers to use wine glasses??
I know kids make messes so I cleaned up everything that dropped on the floor. I also helped clear the table to make it easier for the wait staff.
Finally he agreed to remove it from the bill and told me never to come back to his restaurant.
I will say the staff and service and food was great. I'm giving the service one star because of the manager - not the wait staff. The wait...
