This place is incredible. Wyoming has a ton of Mexican restaurants, and after eating their food just once, it instantly became my favorite.
I ordered my food to go, but the interior was well decorated. The woman working was very polite and somehow knew which order was mine even though I never gave her a name or phone number.
The menu is small but still has pretty good variety. I wanted to try more than one meal, so I ordered the Tostada de Tinga and the Quesabirria. It turned out to be a ton of food for less than $18.
When I got home and took the food containers out of the bag, I noticed the employee had written the name of the meal with hearts on each box! I thought this was a nice personal touch and gave me a laugh!
I didn't expect the tostada to be as large as it was or to have as much meat and toppings, so it was a pleasant surprise. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and the rest of the toppings added great complementary flavor. The best part (and I 100% didn't expect this) was the pink crema! Such a simple and funny touch that really makes the meal stand out!
The quesabirria was up next... And oh man, they were crispy and excellent. Perfectly salty and the meat was incredibly juicy. The consome was flavorful and had bits of onion in it to amp the flavor. Even after dipping, the quesabirria did not fall apart and I maintained its shape. It came with three quesabirria, the consome, and two salsas. Definitely enough for a meal!
When I go to other Mexican restaurants, I usually end up liking one salsa over the other, but here, I loved both! The red salsa was smoky and spicy and the green was creamy and pungent. Each one paired nicely with the quesabirria. If you can't handle spicy, I'd avoid the red salsa entirely. It was delish, but it did cause my nose to run! :)
If you try this restaurant, be warned: It may become your new favorite. I've told many friends about the food and each one ended up ranting about how great everything was! I can't recommend it enough!
Wishing all the best for...
Read moreConfused on how this place got a high rating. I went here for the first time the inside is pretty but the food and service don’t equal up. Waited probably 15 min or longer for my tacos which I don’t mind waiting for my food at all if it’s worth it but this wasn’t😩. I got my tacos thinking they were going to be fresh, juicy, and flavorful it was the complete opposite. I was so confused on why I even had to wait when my tacos literally tasted like they been sitting out for a long time. Steak was super dry many fatty chunks that wasn’t chewable, steak was cold flavorless not seasoned, taco shells was stale cold and old. Very disappointed I had higher expectations since the inside was so pretty but I should have just went to the other taco place across the street. I was thinking about giving this place another chance because maybe it was just a bad day that day but I’m just so turned away by how they even served me them tacos when I came by myself to eat there and it...
Read moreCame for lunch today on a Sunday afternoon. Such a fun atmosphere here! Only issue is the service was a little clunky. Just some small things- waiter didn’t get a drink order for one of us, had to ask for drinks and straws after appetizer was brought without, procedure for paying the bill was a little unclear so after waiting a bit we just went to the counter, realized after I wasn’t given a receipt etc). That said, these are small things and they are still pretty new and were on the whole very pleasant and friendly, so I will extend some grace there. The FOOD however…. PHENOMENAL. Some of the best Mexican food we have ever had, certainly the best in the Grand Rapids area. It was also one of the most reasonably priced restaurants we have been to in a long time. We will definitely be back again and would absolutely recommend any one...
