I'm a pool player, and growing up in Yakima I've heard of The Dutch being renowned for its pool tables. Naturally, I go in wanting to play pool and I ask the bartender how to get hooked up with a table. I was told by the bartender I must make a purchase to play pool, fair enough. I purchased a pitcher of Spacedust IPA to share with a friend while we play pool. This took place slightly after 12pm noon. 1 hour later; Around 1pm comes around, and no longer than 20 minutes after consuming the pitcher (I had 3 beers myself and my friend 2.5) the bartender comes around and asks if were good on drinks. We confirm that we are good on drinks, naturally within 1h that's plenty of beer. However, with our denial of continued service we were insisted on the discontinuation of their pool table which I made a purchase to play on specifically and with original intention of coming in to do so. Let me break down the violations here for the common folk:

  1. our bartender asked us to either: A) get more drunk to continue playing. B) leave.
  2. they allotted 20 minutes max of post consumption time for close to 6 drinks between 2 people before insisting we need to leave.
  3. they did not offer water, food, or time as options to help sober up. In fact, I had to ask them for water. Seems to not have occurred to these "experienced" bartenders.
  4. neither myself nor my friend were beligerant or blatantly drunk so asking us to leave during slow business made it feel as if it was discrimination against us as we were the only people in the establishment who were either black or brown. I dont pull the race card very much, so if I do, you better understand you were being discriminant.

I'm not a confrontational type of person, but I have attempted to contact a manager, left my contact information, and still no response.

We left for no longer than 15 minutes for a smoke break. Also they asked if we were leaving and we confirmed we were going to go take a smoke break and we will return shortly which we did. We never left the establishment, please actually check your cameras because that further information is seemingly invalid. I'm sorry to say this but i honestly think your bartending staff may be stretching the validity of the situation. Our entire visit lasted no longer than 1 hour 30 minutes and that includes leaving for our smoke break. Regardless, I came in for pool, and I was a paying customer. We were only told that we needed to buy something to play pool. So I figured $18 to play pool for an hour or two is ok but we barely got that one hour. I even went out to ask if you pay by the hour and she didnt mention to say anything else but to purchase something. She didnt mention i needed to continually purchase. No, just make a purchase....

Disrespectful service!! My husband and I came here a week after we just moved to Washington to find cool places to play pool and hangout. This place was actually recommended to us. However when we walked in we showed our IDs because we’re both 21. We actually ended up having to show two sets of IDs and they said we were good. We started playing pool, and after a few moments in a waitress is sent to ask if we wanted drinks. I didn’t plan on drinking that night but my husband wanted a drink, so of course she asked to see his id and also mine even though I kept saying I wasn’t going to drink. Anyways we complied but then they refused to service us. They took all of our different forms of IDs and went to where we couldn’t see them, and several different people checked our IDs. Even the manager of the place and they still refused us service. We asked if we could still just play pool and not drink, but then they told us we had to leave or there will be trouble. I honestly was scared and confused by what happened, I even started crying while everyone starred at us as we walked out. I was so embarrassed, and for no reason at all. Perhaps they refused us for being an interracial couple?? I...

Went in Sunday at 6pm. Took 13 minutes for someone to greet me. There were two tables of 4 that were finishings their meals, one table of two waiting, and two people at the bar, that's it. Once I finally got greeted it took another 4 minutes to get menus, yes...I did times this. My daughter ordered a beer, she just turned 22, and was NOT carded. There were two gals behind the counter, one never really left from behind, although there were tables to clean, she stood around a lot. The one that did wait on us seemed quite proud to show off her bra, with her ribbed tank top coming about two inches lower than her bra, not cute, not sexy..just plain sloppy. Once our order finally got there it was messed up and the waitress apologized, we had to wait for the onion rings. The burger we wanted we could not have because they were out of mushrooms. What we did get was dry, overcooked, and severely lacked seasoning. A great disappointment all around. An extreme contrast to the usually fantastic steaks and breakfasts we have ordered in the past. Bad food is one thing, but that poor of customer service will prevent me...

Super busy tonight, and my server I guess has ended her shift and is playing pool, so there are fewer staff members. I wish for more attentiveness, but the food is great. Oh, and the fly situation is somewhat obscene. I don't want to be buzzed by flies as I try to eat. Also something that bugs me is all the tables are so huge. Each table has like 6+ seats, as though they expect every person walking through the door to have several friends with them. This introvert mostly dines alone, so I feel bad taking up a big table. I would have happily sat at the bar, but every seat there was taken, and those at the bar were getting better service, as usually happens. It was a very weird setup.

Went to the Dutch for dinner. Had the specials of the night. New York Strip (medium rare) with baked potato and home made Chilli. Pan seared Salmon with a baker and a house salad. Delicious! Better experience than the Bonefish Grill in the tri cities. Only negative: drinks took a while. Bartender told us he'd comp drinks because of the delay but we were charged for both. Food and drinks were delayed even though they were not too busy. Food was delicious and we will most likely go back to try other items. Drinks were French 75 and a michelada.

If you're looking for a great meal, we'll get the "The Dutch". We have been trying to get here on time for dinner specials, and they usually sell out by 8pm, so get there early. Dinner starts at 5 pm. Today, we got there on time for salmon, mashed potatoes, salad and a dinner roll. Perfectly cooked salmon!! We had been craving salmon for a few weeks, so when we saw it on the menu. We had to try. There Steaks are pretty good also.
