Professional family picture are not something that our family does or has done in the past. The thought of trying to convince a very independent almost three year old to wear what we wanted her to wear and pose in pictures sounded less than fun. However, we decided to go for it and are glad we did. We will have amazing pictures displayed in our house to capture this point in our lives forever.

The initial step was setting up a pre-session meeting with Tavis. This meeting was to get to know us and our family. It was also to discuss timing and what to wear among other things. During this meeting, it became evident through Tavis’ personality and passion for photography, that this would be a positive and easy experience.

The photo session itself was very easy and laid back. Tavis did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable which shows in the amazing pictures he captured. He was especially great with our almost three year old. Tavis made her feel totally comfortable and was very patient and understanding with her. She had the best time!

We were notified within days that our photos were done and that we could schedule a meeting with Tavis to look at all of the photos. The meeting was amazing. He helped us narrow down pictures and had a computer program that took a space in our house and placed photos so that we could see what they would look like in our house. This made the process so much easier and helpful.

We have watch the talented Tavis and Amy grow their company since 2010 when they did our wedding photos. We absolutely love their vision and their style. They are super laid back and they listen to your ideas and build on what you want. Tavis did our family with extended family photos back in June and he was able to capture all the different personalities of the kids and each families dynamics. We highly recommend Tavis and The Guild Gallery for portraits. They also create beautiful prints, canvas prints and frames. Their canvas prints has such a high quality that the print yourself kind does not compare at all. We love the detail and care that they put into each canvas, you can really see the details of each person, and the lighting/color distribution in the canvas is sharp and vibrant. Tavis and Amy took our wedding photos in 2018 (Memory Montage), and because we booked them rather close to our actual wedding date, they offered to take our family portraits this year (Guild Gallery) in lieu of the engagement session typically offered with the package we purchased. We couldn't be happier with the experience on both ends. Their professionalism is unmatched, and is pleasantly punctuated by a very human element that allowed us to feel at ease during the photo session, as well as while choosing the portraits to have printed on canvas and in a photo album. They're great with children, and were able to tame our often rambunctious toddler. The wedding canvas is outstanding, and I can hardly wait to see the canvases we ordered tonight.
