Westside Pizza — Restaurant in Yakima

YOU CAN DEPEND ON WESTSIDE PIZZA!!! I recently found myself in the ER. My autistic son was home alone that night. I got online and ordered his dinner to be delivered via contactless delivery so as not to upset my son with a stranger at his door. I ordered his gluten free pizza and also a personal size one for me so I could eat when I got home. I gave him instructions that he could eat the "big" pizza but the "small" one would make him sick. Awhile later my son called me very confused. I was unable to figure out what had happened as I was still in the ER and in a lot of pain. I called Westside to ask them what was delivered but as the driver wasn't back yet they weren't sure either. I was quite distraught at this point, not knowing if I would be able to return home anytime soon and knowing my son was alone, hungry and upset. The manager on duty didn't hesitate, they made another gluten free pizza for my son and delivered it right away! I think I should add, this was a very busy Saturday night! This was a huge relief to me as I felt helpless in that moment and had no way of fixing the situation on my own!! When I returned home I realized that the first delivery consisted of our original order plus a large half and half pizza that we hadn't ordered. So the second GF pizza they delivered was a duplicate. I went in to the store on 72nd Ave and explained the situation and offered to pay for the second pizza and delivery as it was our mistake. The manager on duty refused to let me pay! One thing I learned is, I CAN COUNT ON WESTSIDE PIZZA, they went above and beyond to feed my son and alleviate my anxiety so I could concentrate on my health! We ordered delivery from Westside pizza this past weekend and it was phenomenal! First, it was delivered with lightening speed! We thought we'd have plenty o' time to unload the truck from a weekend of camping before it got there and lo' and behold...it was there in 25 minutes! Secondly and most importantly, it was piping hot and utterly delicious! We ordered the chicken garlic alfredo w/bacon and the pepperoni and let me tell you....they were both 5 stars! I'm never that easily impressed with a basic pepperoni but this one didn't have puddles of grease and there was some kind of special Italian seasoning on the top. Perfecto! The alfredo was equally impressive. Here's the bonus tho!...My husband ALWAYS insists that we order extra cheese on every pizza. Always. Without fail and without exception. I, on the other hand, continuously tell him that "extra cheese" is the biggest scam ever because unless you order an identical pizza WITHOUT extra cheese, how will you know there REALLY IS the extra cheese you're paying for!?!? UPDATE: I still stand by my review above; however, I went there again on 2 occasions after this review, the first time getting the personal pan pizza. I liked it so much that I decided I would get that again the second time. I went in at around 11:45 for lunch. I ordered the Hawaiian Personal Pan Pizza and the nice young man at the register was ringing me up when a lady came from the kitchen area and told him (not me) that they didn't have any pan pizzas. I was kind of shocked. . .No pan pizza for lunch rush?! The place was empty of customers so it's not like they were busy, so I was confused. It says right on their boxes that they make the dough fresh daily. . .Am I missing something? Is there more to making a pan pizza than forming the dough differently and adding toppings? I realize they don't open until 11:00 am, but it seems to me that they would have everything ready for their lunch rush and pan pizzas are a lunch item. I ended up having to settle with their special. Very disappointed. I guess I will give the other Yakima location a try should there be...
