UPDATE: I'm excited to update my review. I have come to the Kiln a few times in the past couple of months and I have seen a vast improvement w/parents watching their children. There are even a couple of signs reminding parents to do so. I REALLY appreciate The Kiln's effort to make this an enjoyable place for everyone!
We've come here approximately a dozen+ times since The Kiln first opened. We've come during the day as well as in the evenings, in the summer & winter, when it's dead and you have your pick of tables as well as when it takes 25-30 minutes just to stand in line to pay your tab. All in all, it's a great place to meet up with a GROUP....and with the disclaimer that I would ONLY come here meeting up with a group OUTSIDE, to boot. I definitely wouldn't come here if it was just my husband and myself. The Kiln has plenty of space inside and outside for get-togethers and clearly, this is the go-to place where families come with their kids....kids running all around the tables, kicking balls, yelling, coming up to your table, running in and out of the facility while you're carrying drinks, etc... It definitely appears, from my point of view, that this is the place to go when you want to drink & meet up w/friends but y'all have kids in tow and this way you can let them have the run of the place while you're still technically "watching" them. I have seen utter chaos inside and outside with not even a blink of the eye from staff. Yet we come with 5 adults and are "shushed" when we were simply laughing and having a good time and not to mention, it was just us and another table across the room inside. Maybe if we'd had 5-8 kids in tow, it would have been acceptable. ?? The beverage choices are plenty, the food is decent and lots of seating & running around space....if...
Read moreWe stopped in at 8:15 pm on a Sunday evening 7/13/25. By the time we got to the counter it was 8:23 pm. We were immediately told it was last call and had 4 minutes to order (looked at my watch when she said that and I was like, huh?). We felt rushed so we ordered a salad and a beer. We then sat down and they brought our food about 15 minutes later. Within 5 minutes of that the same lady came over and asked if we needed a box. We had just started eating so it was an obvious no. Then she came back to us 5 minutes later and tried to take our plates away. I told her we were not done. She was going around to all the tables and telling them they needed to hurry up and leave. (there was at least 8 or more parties when we arrived). She could clearly be seen looking outside through the windows pointing and scowling. She then came back around right before nine and told us they were closing soon, but none of this was in a nice way. She looked at us and the other customers like we were the enemies. She immediately cranked up the music to an unbearable level. We exchanged words with her a little, as she was stomping around, asking why she was talking to us like this and she just stormed away. We were out the door with 3 or 4 other tables by 9:10. Her co worker locked the doors behind us. That kind of poor customer service tells me she shouldn't be in the service industry at all. They take your tips when you pay at the counter, so there is no reason for her to be nice....
Read moreI liked this place when it opened but service seems to have gone downhil and the staff acts like they don't care. It took 45 minutes for two salads, wings and nachos. Well over half the tables were empty and they were not busy at all. I ordered the "beets" me salad and my wife ordered a garden salad. My beet salad had maybe 10 beets total in it the largest one being about half the size of a dime, I would call it a spinach salad really. They forgot the dressing on my wife's salad, and the two "hot" items we ordered were luke warm at best, the cheese on the nachos had congealed by the time we got our food and the wings were only slightly warm. Subpar for a 90 dollar lunch for two people. Beer selection is excellent which was the only redeeming quality. We tried to sit outside at the bar, but the "waiter" (I use the term loosely on purpose) told us to move because he was placing people's food on the bar for them to pick it up, no sign or anything in the bar saying it was for pickup only, even though there were open barstools at the...
