We had an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE experience at this restaurant this night. We absolutely love the food & service we receive at this hometown restaurant, so we visit often. On this particular night we had been invited to join oue neighbors & their 3 kids for dinner. One of the kids has autism, & the wait staff are always so kind & patient with him. They actually take their time with him & give him the respect of allowing him to place his own order. It makes his day every single time. On this particular night we were simply trying to take a break from our home situations. We recently have had a family of career criminals move in & we have all been systematicly terrorized by them since they arrived 6 months ago. In that time the police have responded over 150 times & yet have never issued so much as a ticket to these drug induced gun welding felons. Needless to say, we all needed a respite from the situation. We ordered our meal, & chatted while we waited. When our meal arrived, we decided tp pray over our meal & ask God to change the hearts of our new neighbors. To our surprise, the entire restaurant fell into silence & removed their hats when we grasped hands to say the blessings. It shocked us all, as we absolutely do not expect anyone to participate in our faith. We ate our meal while enjoying each others company & the small break from our situation. The food was amazing as always & we do highly recommend that everyone try this restaurant! As our meal came to an end, our waitress approached us with tears in her eyes, but before we could ask her if she was o.k, she began to speak. She thanked us for the politness of the kids & commented on how well behaved they were, & proceeded to thank us all for making sure that they were being raised to be respectful & polite. She made a point of telling us that she's proud to know that they are being raised in "the right way"! We thanked her for her kind words & waited for her to hand us the check for our meal. Instead, she explained that another diner had also seen us praying & noted the well behaved children, & that out of kindness of her heart, she had chosen to pay for all 7 of our meals. Unfortunately she had already left the establishment so we were unable to thank her for her kindness. Let me assure you there were not many dry eyes in the restaurant. The kindness that we were shown that night was exactly what we needed to restore our faith in humanity, & affirm that we are on the right path. We cannot control the actions of others, but we can chose how we chose to respond to them. We were shown such a kindness that night & I hope the lady who paid for our meals sees this& knows just how special she made us feel. She truly touched our hearts & gave us a gift we can never repay. Thank you for your humanity, thank you for your kindness, thank you for who you are & for what you do. I truly hope that the day comes when we get to meet you & share this...
Read moreI should have left this review a few months ago to help warn people. I don’t like giving bad reviews but this place is a total rip off and WAY overpriced. Food is not even that great. Ordered $10 potato, waitress asked if I wanted fixins, sure, but I had no idea the tiny, and when I say tiny amount that is exactly what I got, that the “fixins” would end up making the potato $16! Then they surprise you when you go up to pay. Same thing happened to my dad when he went in today. He said he should have known better than to go in! He is not a picky person or critical in anyway about restaurants usually, but when he said how unhappy he was something had to be said! He ordered chicken fried steak, the steak was very small, barely even had any gravy on it, had to ask for more gravy, came with 2 sides, extremely small, one was the potato salad that he said he couldn’t even eat because that’s how horrible it was. I’ve never seen him turn down potato salad! Had a drink and the total came out to $19! That’s for one person! The meal in the menu said it was $12. When he said something they said they had to raise prices and just haven’t changed it in the menu yet. Really people?! If you’re ever in Yellville go to Black Sheep, prices aren’t too bad for what’s going on in the world today, customer service can’t be beat and the...
Read moreSad to say the night we visited we discovered they had no BBQ due to waiting on a part for the smoker. Unfortunately, we weren't told this until after our drink order was served. We soldiered forward. Again, unfortunately our appetizer was forgotten. Not the end of the world, but not the level of service that is a fair expectation. Again, we soldiered forward. As time came to payout, and we were on a road trip, I thought it prudent to avail myself of the facilities. I opened the door to the tiny men's room and glanced a toilet bowl in serious need of attention. I slammed the door shut realizing that what has been seen can never be unseen. We soldiered forward one last time to expedite our egress from this newly managed BBQ joint that really isn't a BBQ joint as there is no bbq. Everyone has an off day and this checked most of those boxes. Why a two star rating? I didn't go one star because someone had to deal with that toilet and I pity that...
