THE GRILL AT 507 — Restaurant in Yelm

Allow me to regale you in a tale ... of a burger.

This story starts on the crisp afternoon of April 16th, 2023. My other party members and I are stationed at our post, behind the counter at our Store. A lone traveler enters our fine establishment and after some time choosing his wares, he begins to tell us the tale of something called "The Western Smash Burger". Describing what could only be explained as a divine experience, He said urges should try it as soon as we could.

As the traveler bids us farewell and leaves our walls. The stomaches of three hungry adventures begins to growl. We know what must be done.

Now this account that I shall share will only be of one voice but I guarantee you that the feelings were shared between every soul who went on this journey.

16 gold pieces and twenty minutes that felt all to long later, our Scout had returned with the precious loot.

Three "Western Smash Burgers" with a side of fries and extra Garlic Aioli for dipping. I myself like to dance with the spicy devils and so I asked the Chef if he would add a dash of heat to mine. He did so post-haste and what I received with nothing short of pure passion from a skilled artist.

I like to start by explaining the fresh fries that were crisp to a wonderful golden color and had just the right amount of salt. Paired with the Robust Garlic Aioli that just hit the palette in all of the right ways, it created a fusion surely fit for royalty.

But, Our main course. The Burger itself.

Upon ushering myself to somewhere more private, I opened the paper vessel that contained my treasure and was met with the most blissful smells. The burger itself was wrapped in a small layer of foil that once I carefully peeled away, I was face to face with what one could say was the King of all Burgers.

A beautiful house-style bun with two locally sourced patties, glistening in delicious fats and oils, a generous serving of golden onion rings and savory barbecue sauce, perfectly crisp bacon and plenty of spicy peppers and sauce to sate my need to play with fire.

A took a moment to admire the art that lay before me, but my stomach could hold out no longer and before I was devouring the burger.

Every bite, pure bliss. Every tender, decadent piece of bacon and burger merged with the spicy peppers and and sweet onions caused a new wave of revelations in my mind. Realizing I have never truly had a burger this good, tears began to fill my eyes.

But like all good things that are destined to end, the final bite approached. I closed my eyes and ate the final pieces of my burger.

A feeling of bitter-sweet washed over me as the greatest burger experience I have ever had left my world. I wiped my misty eyes and with a deep breath felt truly satisfied. That bitter-sweet was replaced with a sense of pure and incomparable satisfaction. I left my quarters only to find my other party members feeling the exact same way.

Went there for the first time today, got the brisket poutine and a SOB burger and the bbq burger. It was the most disrespectful poutine we’ve ever had. No seasoning, cheese curds weren’t melted, wasn’t layered right , and the brisket was not brisket I’m used to (I’ve lived in Oklahoma, Louisiana, & Texas). I honestly wanted to cancel my order when we were eating the appetizer. The bbq burger had no flavor, it was the blandest burger I’ve literally ever had and when I left I needed something to drink so I could get the taste out of my mouth. The SOB burger wasn’t that good and over priced, $5 burger at a $18 dollar price. We spent almost $60 on lunch and I was really disappointed and felt like it was a waste of money. If I could give this place a zero star, I would my husband and i walked out after 10 minutes without ordering anything. We went out with a couple of friends, and one of those friends was treated horribly. My husband and the friend went up to order us dinner, and the manager of the kitchen decided to pick a fight with the friend. Keep in mind that you walk right by the kitchen when you walk into the restaurant. So why did the "manager" wait until after the friend had a beer to say anything and not say anything when they walked in? The bartender was amazing it was just the "manager" that I had a problem with. He also waited 3 months to say something about something that had already been resolved. This place has no respect for disabled veterans or any veterans at all. And he made sure to say that as well. And we have made sure to let all of our friends...
