On Saturday I ordered to-go chicken and waffles. I picked up my food and found waffles with gravy and chicken not the fried chicken and waffles that I thought they were. I called and the girl who answered the phone said it happens all the time and that it is a PA thing. I'm not from PA. So I called back the next day in order to get a refund for the chicken and waffles not because it wasn't what I thought it was but because the very thin liquid gravy and chicken was poured over the waffle and no longer edible. I would have eaten the waffle and gravy/chicken separately but I wasn't given that option. I was told I couldn't get a refund "after a day" and when I told him I still have the meal I was told no one there could help me. So I obviously won't be back. With that being said I will tell you the issues I have had and haven't said anything. I have gotten a huge salad covered in dressing and a Benedict covered in sauce. The young lady with brightly colored hair who works in the mornings has given me grief the last 3 visits for a tip. The last order being a sandwich that was under $6 that I picked up. I think the owners have changed and it shows. Put a description of the chicken and waffles in your menu and join the rest of us in 2024 in keeping the wet and dry items separate in a to-go order.

They have the best Milk Shacks and we always go there when we have the thirst for one. Yesterday, Saturday 02/04/2022 we purchased 2 as normal and when we got home we noticed they were in two different size cups. I call and the person that answered the phone told me next time we come there to remind them with a picture and they will compensate use. So today, 02/05/2022 my wife stop in and show them the picture of the 2 different size cups and was going to purchase 2 more. The person said they had ran out of the normal larger cup so my wife said way were we than charged the same to the smaller cup and the person replied as if it was a joke saying because they only have the small cup and they only sell one size. Is This Any Way To Do Business? WOW

I had an early morning appointment today, and stopped off at the Dairyland Family Restaurant afterwards for breakfast. This place is a little gem. The restaurant was not busy at all while I was there. The waitress, Taylor, was prompt, polite, and very helpful. I had the Baked Oatmeal which was very tasty. The food was served quickly. Taylor checked in at the table at least a couple of times to see if I needed anything else; including to refill my coffee. The cost of breakfast was very reasonable at a $4.99, including the coffee. This restaurant is definitely worth your while to check out!

Just had breakfast this morning at DFR. We eat breakfast there several times a month. The food is always tasty, reasonably priced, the service is fast, and the employees are some of the friendliest, hardworking people. This morning while enjoying our food, an elderly couple came in, and before he even sat down, the man made a snide comment to his waitress about tipping, to which she replied “That’s how we make our money”. The man retorted back “That’s your problem, not ours”, and they immediately left the restaurant. I was later told that this couple comes in to eat at DFR several times a week, and they never leave a tip. We’ve had the pleasure of being waited on by all the waitstaff at DFR, and they all hustle and work hard with a smile on their face and kind words. Every single one of them deserve to be generously tipped (20% is the current standard) because they earn those tips! In case you’ve been living under a rock, most restaurants only pay their waitstaff between a $2.50-$3.00 base salary, with no healthcare benefits, no vacation pay, no frills. The rest they make in tips. To that elderly couple, or anyone else who thinks it’s okay not to tip, ask yourself, could you live on $2.50-$3.00/hour pay? I don’t think so! So if you don’t want to tip your waitperson, go eat at McDonald’s or some cafeteria. Better yet, just stay home and cook your own darn breakfast, serve yourself, and clean up after. None of the rest of us who enjoy dining at DFR will be missing you. AND YOU KNOW...

First let me start by saying Dallastown Family Restaurant used to be me and my coworkers go to place for lunch. We work in healthcare and often don’t get much time to grab lunch in a pitch, but Dallastown was always quick to make our orders which we are very grateful for. As of recently we’ve become very disappointed with the service and quality of our food. We have been met with cold and soggy food and rude staff. At first we didn’t mind because we understand that many businesses are short staffed and get frustrated by the increase of orders and how demanding that can be. However as of today we can confidently say we will not be returning here to order lunch. As I was calling in our order I was rudely told that “businesses need to start tipping their staff because it is ridiculous that people call in 100$ orders and not tip.” Mind you; our total was 35 dollars and some change. I’m sorry but if your staff is constantly rude and isn’t providing quality food; it is not required for us to tip you. I’m not one to usually not tip wait staff but if you start demanding that I tip you because you put my food, (that you didn’t even cook) in a bag, doesn’t entitle...
