Location location location! The Dockside reminded me of vacationing at a private resort. My husband and I booked the lookout room which had a private deck. Two nice comfy chairs were provided for comfort. The deck opened up to sliding glass doors which provided a stunning view of York Harbor as well as the great Atlantic Ocean. It was a treat to wake up to this magnificent view every morning and have coffee and breakfast on the deck. Plenty of birds boats and scenes to take picture of from the deck. Breakfast is included with your stay at the Dockside. The doors at the main house are opened for coffee to bring to your room. You may either choose to have breakfast in your room or dine at the Main house. Breakfast has quite a variety including: eggs pastries fruits bacon sausage juices cereal oatmeal etc. The coffee was hot and delicious. Dockside provides games for family fun! My husband enjoyed a game or two of old fashion shuffleboard! Bikes are also available free of charge. A nice restaurant is available to dine at for dinner. Also a tiki bar at the pier offers drinks and food. The room was lovely. The bed was extra comfy. Shower was excellent and we had plenty of closet space. Dockside also offers a boat ride. Check when reserving for times and prices. Our one hour ride was only $20 for the two of us. I'd like to thank John the captain of the boat for an incredible ride! John knew I was interested in taking pictures. He brought us over by the ever so famous Nubble Lighthouse and hit every angle so I could take plenty of pictures. I found it interesting when we went over to the bell tower and heard the chime of the bell. Also long sands beach looked luxurious with the many newly built hotels from the oceanside. I also wanted to mention Lisa and thank her for being so accommodating. Thank you Lisa for providing the handicap parking space booking our boat trip offering us the beer to purchase for our visit to Chaunceys and for the map of marginal way. You went out of your way to make sure all our needs were met. Dockside is a shirt car ride to beaches wiggly bridge Ogunquit. Dockside provided my husband and I with a spectacular vacation. We are looking forward to many more vacations with you.

This photo shows the actual view from our room (109) at Dockside Guest Quarters. This is truly a magical property. Our room was about 20' from water's edge, and we could sit on the deck and watch the fishing boats go in and out. We were on the second floor of the Crow's Nest, which gives excellent privacy. The property is very secluded, away from the touristy areas. Our room was small but very nice, with a private deck and outstanding water views. A huge buffet breakfast is served in the main house each morning, and it was sunny and warm so we sat on the porch which overlooks the harbor. The first night we ate at the restaurant, which was very good (it was closed the next two nights). Dockside is located just a short drive away from tourist spots like Ogunquit and Perkins Cove. We went in September, so traffic was not a problem. In walking distance from Dockside is a nature preserve, accessed by the very interesting and picturesque "Wiggly Bridge." The Cliff Walk is also in walking distance. Our stay was wonderful. The only negative I would mention was housekeeping seemed to be very low-key. I set aside our drinking glasses for fresh ones each day, but they did not materialize. My husband also brought over a coffee mug from the main house, which did not get picked up the whole time we were there. These minor issues did not take away from our enjoyment of Dockside, but felt I had to mention. Overall, I would definitely return and highly recommend the place. UPDATE 2018 - We once again spent four days at Dockside Guest Quarters and had a wonderful experience. Housekeeping was much improved over last year. This is the authentic Maine experience. We will be back again. UPDATE 2019 - Back again! We just love this place. Mid-September is a perfect time to visit York, and we had beautiful weather. You can't beat the ambiance of Dockside Guest Quarters. Check out the photo of sunrise, taken from our deck!

Perfect location for a truly perfect wedding! They say it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day, and if that is true, my daughter and her new husband are in for buckets of joy! Despite the fickle Maine weather, Dockside proved to be a glorious location with amenities and a warm, cordial staff that made our experience truly memorable. From their special and very private setting to comfortable rooms, extraordinary views, and wonderful, homemade breakfast each morning. We felt welcomed in every way and the typical pre-wedding jitters were eased by the understanding of everyone we came contact with. Heather C. the wedding manager clearly had everything under control and never left us worried for a minute that everything would be just right. Our guests are still complimenting us on the beautiful venue, the "best ever" wedding hors d'oeuvres, and the incredible meal. Dockside is "off the beaten path" yet offers easy access to everything York has to offer so even those wedding guests who didn't book into Dockside Guest Quarters could reach the venue easily. I can't recommend it enough.

We were so looking forward to our bed and breakfast at Dockside. When we pulled up there in the evening the restaurant was just closing down and we were very hungry. The staff asked if we liked crab rolls that maybe they could find some and we said for sure. So we sat down and waited for them in the bar. When the staff returned they said they went ahead and threw in some fries and coleslaw too. We were very thankful until we read the bill. The bill was for $84 and then we about fell over. The only other things we purchased was a Coke and a beer. That price was just ridiculous but of course we had nothing we could do but pay for it. I suppose we should have said no but they could have also told us this beforehand. We really felt taken advantage of and there wasn’t that much food, we were still hungry. There is no place around to grab a snack that we knew of. On the way out they reminded us that there was a wedding party using the restaurant the next night which was Saturday and so the restaurant would be closed. This was very disappointing to hear we had planned to eat there.|The room was very comfortable and cute we did like it and it had a view of the harbor. That is until they put up the wedding tent and then that blocked our view. When the wedding party arrived they had the whole area taken over by the fire pits and the loud noise and music went on until well after 10pm. When we thought we might get some relaxation to go to sleep, there was a gathering of men outside under the tent swearing for hours. Then it was quiet only because we found out they were moving to the side of the complex to swear and be loud again they were drunk of course. No idea how long this went on for but there is no security there and no phone number to call in a complaint. |There was other guests trying to relax through all of this too, it was so annoying. The food there was good, especially the home made breads and pastries. We were in room 119. We told the staff in the morning they seemed surprised and they apologized for the noise. They should not be renting out rooms for weddings on the same weekends when others are there to relax. They need to change this policy because it is a very nice place to stay when visiting Maine. We paid about $350-$375 a night and we had to leave for awhile just to find peace and quiet. This needs to be corrected. I would not stay there again unfortunately because of this bad...

Beautiful family-run business! What a wonderful vacation spot. Views of the York River. Views of the Atlantic Ocean.

This is the most beautiful, most quiet, and most clean place I have ever stayed. Wow! I loved the wooded landscape.

Some days I just relaxed on my deck and read all day long (which I never can do in my "real" life). Some days I shopped all day long visiting the local shopkeepers (purchasing expensive shoes, books, gifts, and linens at extremely discounted prices). Some days I toured and enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Maine (seeing Maine flowers, Maine waters, and Maine creatures). The resort offers nice walks, shuffleboard, horseshoes, badminton, croquet, bicycles, and marina boat watching.

The resort offers a nice breakfast buffet with LOTS of options (adjusted a tiny for Covid). Every single day there is a different "main course" (quiche, pancakes, Blueberry Stuffed French Toast, Sausage and Egg Bake, breakfast casserole, egg option, etc.), a meat option (bacon and delicious sausage), homemade breads, bagels, English muffins, homemade muffins, coffee cake, cereals, Danish, fresh fruit, beverages, and more. Everything is hot, delicious, and eye appealing. You may eat your breakfast in their seating area inside, on their front porch outside, or on your own private deck/patio.

Quality coffee, tea, and cocoa are available all day. Homemade treats are available each afternoon. Lemon Bars and Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies, Maine Whoopie Pies, Peanut Butter Bars......YUM! (Side note: I wished they would have coffee makers in all of the rooms. Although they do have coffee available all day, it would be nice to be able to make a cup of coffee in your room early in the morning and/or late in the evening.)

All of the owners/staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, nice, kind, and neatly dressed. They all made time to answer my questions with a smile.

Clean, clean, clean! The staff that does the cleaning really does a great job. Wow. I was extremely impressed. Top notch! Everything (linens, window sills, carpet, deck/patio, ceilings, furniture, etc.).

My only disappointment with this resort was that I had to leave! I wish I could have stayed a lot longer in this beautiful land. This vacation was definitely as good as my many trips to Disney...
