Wedding Review Here! When we first began dreaming of our wedding, we knew two things would be key to a successful reception--dancing and food. When we stumbled across the Dockside Restaurant and realized we could book out the entire place, we couldn't believe our luck! Here are our top four reasons you should absolutely choose Dockside for your reception venue: (1) The Food - Kendra and the team were eager to work with us to craft the perfect wedding menu. We have a lot of allergies as well as foodies in the family, and they balanced the desire for delicious food with perfect signature cocktails with the need to keep shellfish and gluten far away from a few guests. We ended up with about 120 guests, and they did a great job accommodating everything. This included mini-lobster rolls and oyster shooters with gazpacho as appetizers, HUGE portions of price rib, delicious fresh fish, a great vegan option (usually overlooked but not here!), and killer desserts. (2) The View and Ambience - York Harbor at sunset is magical, and the Dockside is in a perfect spot to enjoy it. Everyone loved the expansive green lawn, the small rocky beach, the cute gazebo, and the long dock that puts you among the sailboats. Our guests enjoyed the grounds so much, some of them almost missed the start of dinner. Dockside itself does their beautiful location justice with large, floor to ceiling windows that let you gaze at the water as the sun went down, and an enclosed porch that meant our guests could take a break from the dance floor without feeling as if they were leaving party. As a bonus, the Dockside's floor plan makes it ideal for a dancing. (3) The Staff - We worked with two, wonderful event coordinators due to a long engagement. Our first, Heather, helped put us at ease by walking us through rainy day plans, confirming our choice of DJ, and introducing us to the Dockside's expansive menu. Our second event coordinator, Kendra was as enthusiastic as we were about our event! She helped us work out a plan for all the allergies, and coordinated the special touches mentioned below. All our servers were wonderful! They were attentive, fast, and so kind!! It was clear that everyone on the staff wanted us to feel good and for the event to go smoothly. (4) Special Touches - Kendra helped us plan two signature cocktails and one signature mocktail at no extra cost! The venue was accommodating of our using a school bus to pick up and drop off our guests. And we took the option of extending our night by an hour--and all of our servers stayed through the entire event! If you are considering the Dockside for your wedding reception then look no further - this is the place! PS. We had our ceremony at a different location, but we are confident that Kendra and the group would also do a fabulous job hosting that, too. The view of the harbor is gorgeous and they have a comprehensive rainy day plan. So much so that they were actually our rain location despite our ceremony being elsewhere.

We had the perfect wedding day at Dockside! I loved the venue at first sight, and Heather was so helpful with planning throughout the year. She was a calming presence throughout the busy day, and her team made everything run so smoothly. Our guests kept saying how beautiful everything was and really enjoyed themselves, especially since it was a majority of their first trips to Maine. I really appreciate how flexible the team was with us adding an extra hour to the reception since everyone wanted to keep the party going. The oceanside ceremony with the boats in the harbor and the intimate reception at the restaurant with a hopping dance floor made everything exactly as we hoped for our big day. Thanks again to the Dockside team!

This is a review for the Dockside Restaurant in York Harbor, Maine. I went for dinner tonight(7/12/25), with a large party. As I think back on this outing, I can say that it was an excellent experience! The atmosphere was terrific - we ate on the screened-in porch - the food was great(duck, braised short ribs, lobster, haddock), and the service was superb. Our server, Josephine, was as good as it gets, upbeat, energetic, and flawless in serving 9 people! Putting all of this together, it was a wonderful night, so very enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and be very confident that they would love it!!

We visited dockside on 7/10/21 for a birthday dinner with a fairly large group (12 of us) and sat outside at a large table. The views are great and the food is good, but the service was terrible. I know everyone is struggling with service due to the pandemic but it was a late dinner (7pm reservation) and they were not very busy for the waitress to be so neglectful. When the host arrived they were unable to find the reservations and then kept telling the guests as they arrived that no one was there. When taking drink orders the waitress ignored others at our party and took forever to bring the little boy with us his Shirley Temple. We had to remind her that we hadn’t ordered when she was ready to walk away and then by the time our food came it was completely dark outside, with zero lighting. We had to use our phone lights to see what we were even eating. We had asked for candles, which they confirmed they could bring out, but then never did. To top off the negative experience, we were overcharged by two extra drinks (which doesn’t seem like much but at $12.50 each it comes to over $30 with the tax and tip they included). I called the next day to rectify it and missed one call back but the manager has since not returned my calls. I’m not going to hunt down $30 but it just amplifies the negative experience. Long story short, great views and good food. If you’re willing to sacrifice service, I would recommend going earlier in the evening and allow...

So disappointed in the service and food here. We made reservations because the reviews overall were pretty good. We were staying in York for our anniversary weekend and wanted a casual, but nice place to celebrate for dinner. Made reservations via Open Table and the reservation was cancelled by the restaurant without a phone call. We tried calling, no answer. Then we made another reservation via Open Table. Luckily, that one stuck. When we arrived, we were seated at an outside table. It took our server over 15 mins to acknowledge us and then she didn’t really even greet us- just asked what we wanted to drink. We didn’t even have menus! We ordered crab cakes that were soggy and then we were hardly finished with them when our entrees were being placed in front of us. I got a salad that had no dressing. When I asked for a side of dressing, the waitress came back with Caesar dressing and said “I wasn’t sure what you wanted so I just grabbed Caesar.” She didn’t even give me a chance to respond. Just left it on the table. The salad was meant to come with a vinaigrette....I assumed that she would bring what the salad as intended to come with. The salmon was cooked well, but wasn’t memorable- just salt and peeper. Our waitress walked by our table no less than 5 times before collecting our card for payment. The views and the building have potential, but the food was meh and our server was awful. I honestly don’t think she said more than 10 words to us...
