This was my first time here and the best way I can describe it is imagine Dairy Queen meets Wendy’s with the service of Chik-FIL-A with a sprinkle of comfortable 50’s feeling for eating.
The girl working the front with the cool looking fish tale braid was super enjoyable to speak with and she definitely kept the laughs coming with how she talked with her team.
She remained courteous, polite, fun, and just the chillest personality.
Food - the food was hot and bold with flavor! Now, that mint shake with chocolate whipped cream is….SUPERIOR!!!! The mint shake here shall forever remain number one in my heart because it was balanced with vanilla, mint, chocolate, and had sprinkles!
The cookie dough sundae is a guilty pleasure that you can get your kiddos and see their faces get excited when they see what’s before their little eyes!
The chicken bacon ranch salads tasted fresh and the chicken was not dry nor was it over cooked! It hit the perfect balance of flavor and tenderness!
All I can tell you is that if you find yourself in York, Nebraska then go ahead, stop on by Runza just beside Walmart, Holiday Inn, and Starbucks. Grab a bite to eat. Then just enjoy the pleasantries of just feeling relaxed and able to enjoy a heart filling food of...
Read moreI give Runza 4 stars because the restaurant was very clean, service was very quick and the employees were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. This is our first experience with a runza. So after seeing the restaurant next to Walmart, we decided to check it out. The fries were good and so were the onion rings. I was surprised to find they actually salted them. For some reason restaurants are not seasoning food appropriately and it detracts from the enjoyment of eating. Fried foods must be salted as they come out of the fryer. Anyway we liked ours. We tried an original runza and an onion, mushroom, Swiss runza. They reminded us of Philly cheesesteaks in a soft roll. The fillings were pretty tasty and so was the roll. I felt the roll was too soft and somewhat doughy. I ate the meat and tossed about half of the roll. My husband ate his completely and said he enjoyed it. I can see why people love them, however I was disappointed and probably will not go back to a Runza Restaurant. The chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich was very good, however, and I might be persuaded to run into a Runza for one of those...
Read moreThis might not be a chain many see as Runza is unique to the Cornhusker State, but as far as fast food chains go, this is certainly one of the better fast food chains around. While my review is for the York, NE location, my review reflects my thoughts on my experiences at multiple locations (York and North Platte). I'll start with a couple of constructive critiques; first, I did find the chili to be a bit dry for my tastes. While I find the recipe generally OK, it could use a little moisture, especially if it's to go. The other is an idea; I would like to see a breakfast menu with Runzas tweaked for breakfast served with their cinnamon rolls included. Now for the upsides. I find the service very attentive and my interactions very pleasant. So far I have not had a bad experience with them. Both their runzas and burgers are very tasty and very good for the to go experience with the burgers being a bit better in my opinion. And most of all their fries are very fresh and likely the best crinkle-cut fries served in fast food. So if you're in Nebraska and looking for fast food, give...
