I’ve been here twice recently but it was enough to turn me into a fan. Antonio’s has a very homey and authentic vibe to it, with a fantastic menu. I couldn’t find a complaint about this place if I tried.
The coffee is absolutely excellent, and I consider myself a “coffee snob”. I’m a frequent flyer at both Hyperion and Vertex amongst others, and this coffee is down right delicious. We ordered a few things, and I got the chilaquiles twice now. The first time I got them, it was magical. Absolutely astounding, not only the best chilaquiles I’d ever had, but one of my top 3 meals I’ve ever had. The only chilaquiles THAT good were in my dreams until now.
…Okay, maybe it’s a bit exaggerated but still was one of the best things I’ve ever had. The pupusas were also phenomenal, we got the mixed ones. Hot, crispy, delicious. Comes with a seasoned slaw that’s just the slightest bit vinegary, it’s an excellent pairing that’s both fresh and sort of like a delicious palate cleanse.
Not yet tried the dessert, but maybe one day when I’m not stuffing my face with pupusas. Also, shoutout to the prices. You can eat VERY well here for around $10. Service has always been good, food is quick to arrive. Just note, it’s self-serve seating and there’s not much of it, but that in itself is a blessing if there’s not a huge wait as it moves quick.
Lastly, this place feels unabashedly authentic. I haven’t had Honduran food elsewhere, but this definitely doesn’t feel like they took shortcuts and I absolutely adore that. And for those who aren’t sure, they do have a menu with some classic coney island fare. I have no doubt it’s good, but the Honduran specialties are what I’d recommend personally.
Simply, come here. Get some food. Try that one dish, you won’t...
Read moreI had been eagerly awaiting my first time eating here. I am a huge fan of El Salvadoraña fare, especially pupusas and fried plantains, two of my all-time favorite foods.
So when I found out that this chic little strip mall diner served my beloved pupusas and plantains, well, I was probably pretty giddy that first time I found out, and ever since I couldn't wait to try them out and compare them to the authentic fare from an El Salvadoraña restaurant in Detroit on Livernois near Michigan. Antonio's didn't quite measure up to par, but it was pretty good and I was so very happy to have a restaurant make pupusas and plantains for me, it is a luxury meal for me for sure. In all fairness, when I tried Antonio's pupusas and plantains, the restaurant had just opened post pandemic and was clearly still on limited hours and staff and they were operating at limited capacity; for those reasons, I am giving them a 4 star for the time being, but I will come back for...

Asked wat salad is best for the ingredients i want and was recommended the Cobb salad asked for everything excep 3 ingredients to be taken out with extra chicken and extra egg. Ended up with blue cheese (allergy) and tomatoes. I expressed the issue with the bc and was rudely told what I didn't say 5 times. Fast forward I go to pick up my remake she asked for the salad but I refused (they wanted to pick thru the toppings) to give her the salad until they remade mine after 15 minutes the cook comes out with a half filled salad complaining about lettuce and argued with me over the refund and lettuce. i dont give no one a hard time but these women were nasty and petty and never again.
