I've had the pleasure of enjoying the offerings at a family-owned donut shop that has been a beloved institution for over a decade. This cozy little spot has become a cherished part of my morning routine, and it never fails to make my day better with its delicious coffee and donuts.
The first thing that strikes me about this place is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's clear that it's not just a donut shop; it's a place where the community gathers, and the friendly, family-oriented service adds to the charm. The owners and staff are familiar faces, and they make every visit feel like catching up with old friends.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the donuts. These delectable pastries are nothing short of a culinary delight. The variety on offer is astounding, from classic glazed and chocolate frosted to more creative and seasonal options. Each donut is made with care and attention to detail, resulting in a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
And, of course, the morning coffee is the ideal companion to these donuts. It's always fresh, hot, and brewed to perfection. The combination of the aromatic coffee and the sweet, fluffy donuts is like a match made in heaven. It's the kind of morning indulgence that makes the start of the day something to look forward to.
What I truly appreciate about this family-owned donut shop is the consistency and the genuine sense of community it fosters. You can count on them day after day for that comforting, delicious start to your morning. It's a testament to the power of small, family-owned businesses in creating a sense of belonging and a taste of home.
In sum, this donut shop has won my heart with its delightful offerings, friendly service, and the sense of home it brings to every morning. It's more than just a place to grab a donut; it's an essential part of the community and a source of joy for many. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and start your day with a visit to this wonderful family-owned...
Read moreDonuts "Dom" Right! Go no where else but here if you're in the area. They are making ALL the delectable donuts the old fashioned way. These are the best donuts I've had in a very long time. You walk in and immediately get a whiff of that beautiful bakery fresh smell! I have to give them kudos as we went in right before closing (7pm) and on a Wednesday night and they still had plenty selection! The sour cream glazed are one of their many signatures and boy did they nail it! These generous sized donuts have the perfect texture, glaze and cream flavor you're not going to get at too many other places. The glazed raised were as fluffy as a pillow and melted in my mouth. The peanut coated donut had real ground pieces of peanuts in the glaze and not just peanut dust. The box weighed enough too so you're not just getting donuts that are all air! There was no residue of any oil or grease either. They had cute little decorated cakes in a variety of flavors. The prices are very reasonable too. They've been here for over 25 years and I can see why. You can see they put love into every morsel they make. All the donuts we had were delicious. I wish they were in my hometown of Chicago as they'd give quite a few donut places a run for their money!! I'm not leaving Ypsilanti without a dozen for home. Dom Bakery is definitely one of the old world top donut places for my record books...
Read moreThis is a hole-in-the-wall place, but has great donuts! Actually, they are pretty much the only donuts I can eat that don't leave me feeling poorly afterwards. If you want super fresh, go around 9p - they are warm. (That is the only time to buy the apple fritter, IMHO.) I typically stick to their cake donuts due to watching the calories, but have had a variety over the last few years and they are all good. I just introduced some friends to them - who are self-professed donut connoisseurs - and they all said these were the best donuts in the area they'd had. . . Someone bought one of their cakes for work and it was quite tasty, as well. You can buy cake slices, if you are in the mood for just a piece. . . I haven't been super impressed with their cookies, but that is due to personal preference - I prefer moist and they are on the dryer side. . . .There is seating. They sell coffee (don't know what type) and bottles of drinks - various pops, milk,...
