Lucky Garden — Restaurant in Ypsilanti

So bad, so bad.. Someone please go in and inspect them... The place opens at 11:00am I ordered at 12:04 they said the food would be done in 10 minutes, honestly I don't care how long the food takes as long as it's good. But omg let's start with the lunch's if you order something like beef or chicken low main, or chow main. Your food will not have the noodles because you have fried rice, even though its in option on their menu. My son orded L8, what's wrong with their rice? why's it taste like that? Is the oil old? On to the soup, I had the hot and sour, it was way too much quagulation, also the bamboos were way too soft. How? lastly its not spicy hot, & missing crushed red peppers, oh yeah no chicken strips, and barely any mushroom but hey.. On to the next the crab Rangoons, being almost a dollar each / again with no seasoning just crab and cream Cheese. Um, okay at least they were made today... Next, the bow wow platter please, please whatever you do don't order this... So gross I had to spit out the fried wontons and that was after I couldn't even bite into it. Shame on me for trying, so moving on the ribs in the container, they were so dried out I couldn't get the meat off the bones, and someone needs to tell them DO NOT put a styrofoam container into a microwave and serve it to people... I didn't try the egg rolls I was too scared with how much was pre-made and who knows how many days prior. Don't ever worry about me or my family's business again. They used to be good but it's been over a decade, since I've been. It'll be that long again before I go back. If you want to Improve the quality maybe go to king shing and order from them or even Hong Kong cause this lucky garden will never be...

I have been going to lucky garden since I was a little girl. I have always loved the place and it has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant. I have enjoyed the staff over the years and the food is delicious. When I was a child, there was a woman who waitressed and she knew our order by memory and there would be times we would go months without seeing them. It always surprised us that when we would return, she could remember our faces and our orders. She was always so kind and sweet. Unfortunately, I do not know her name but I always wondered how she was in life over time. I definitely have fond memories of her and this restaurant. Now, there are times where it hasn’t met my previous expectations, but it was far and in between. Today is my birthday and I wanted to go to my favorite Chinese place. In conversation, I mentioned my birthday and a a couple staff members—a young gentleman and a young lady— told me Happy Birthday. That was very sweet in general, but the young woman then went the extra mile and proceeded to ask me if I liked and wanted soup. The food was ok even though two of our orders was supposed to be spicy. The service was awful!!!! Number one they didn't have any lights on in the dining room. When I asked if they could turn on the lights, they took their time. They weren't even busy! When my group arrived, it was completely empty! When our food arrived, I asked for extra napkins because there was a minor with us. The only time we saw server is immediately after our food arrived. One of the employees was leaving out and cut our lights off! Yes, he cut off the lights. I asked him would he please turn the lights back on. He said in a minute. I told him we don't eat in the dark, got up and started flicking switches. None of them controlled the lights. The female server/cashier told me to stop and yes I told her to turn the lights back on. When we finished eating, I went to the counter to ask for containers, I was only given a couple. I didn't want to leave a tip, but that's not how I was raised. I left a nickel because I didn't have any pennies. I will NEVER, EVER, NEVER go there again! All the other patrons placed takeout orders. Don't go to Lucky Gardens! ...
