I used to live quite close to Jector’s, and would regularly purchase burritos for myself and my family, as Jector’s could be counted on for good food, in terms of quality and quantity.
Today I made a special trip to Jector’s from the Glamis area and ordered a Kali Burrito, Jector’s variation of a California Burrito (carne asada and potatoes). Within a few bites it was apparent that my burrito was severely lacking the carne asada component. After a couple more bites, I thought “Okay, now this is getting ridiculous”, and I unfolded the tortilla to inspect the filling. I am not exaggerating when I say that the burrito’s contents were easily 95% cubed potatoes. There may have been a dozen pinky fingernail sized pieces of carne asada mixed among the potato cubes, including the few I’d already consumed, but I am being generous with that estimate. I was incredibly disappointed. I discarded what was left of my “potato burrito” and went elsewhere to get a proper lunch.
I get that we are all feeling the crunch of inflation, but Jector’s either needs to raise it’s prices to provide the same quality of food that customers have grown accustomed to, or remove options from the menu if they’re no longer able to prepare them properly. C’mon...
Read moreI stopped at Jector’s Burritos on a road trip to Texas and was genuinely impressed. I have always believed Texas reigns supreme when it comes to Mexican food, but Arizona definitely gives it a run for its money. Jector’s is proof of that.
I was looking for a quick bite and decided to try their green chile burrito, made fresh to order. It was the hottest meal I have had in a long time in terms of temperature, and every bite was packed with flavor. The rice and beans were seasoned perfectly, and the green chile guisado had a rich, comforting taste that stood out. I only wish there had been a bit more of the guisado in the burrito, but that is a minor note considering how delicious everything was.
The service was just as impressive. The young woman at the counter was warm, friendly, and made the experience feel even more welcoming. I also loved the wall dedicated to other small businesses. It was such a great touch that shows community pride.
Overall, the flavor was amazing, the service was excellent, and this is a place I will remember the next time I pass through. This is a solid five...
Read moreJector's has finally reopened, but they are no longer the "Best Burritos In Town" - they are now "Better Than The Best Burritos In Town"! Sounds like a pretty tall order! Being fans of old Jector's, we rushed in to give new Jector's a try.
The burrito prices have gone up .50.. but you can see where you money is going. The menu boards and signage are fresh and new, the restaurant is very clean.
We ordered a Supreme Breakfast, Pastor and a Kali. Nobody was disappointed. The burritos were well-seasoned and delicious - and fat! A great meal for each of us. The cashier was not the friendliest, not a people-person, or maybe just a very dry sense of humor.
It is nice to be able to watch them hand make each burrito with fresh ingredients, cooking it up and pouring it right out of the frying pan onto the huge tortilla.
This is a tough town to be Better Than The Best in, but Jector's is def making a play for the big time!
I would like to see tacos on the menu and a less expensive bean and cheese burrito. Other than that - def recommend due to size and quality of food...
