Las Rositas — Restaurant in Zebulon

Very authentic place. Minus one star for not having margaritas and for their “hottest super-hot homemade sauce” being fairly mild, but plus a star for the incredible fresh salsa (quite possibly the best I’ve ever had) and the very nice owner/manager who was the only one working there that knew more than 5 words of English but was incredibly welcoming and accommodating.

While the food wasn’t bad, it wasn’t what you’d expect at a restaurant - the food is more like what you’d expect to get at someone’s home if they had you over and just whipped something up really quick for lunch, which actually really added to the apparent authenticity of the menu.

It was worth the visit just to check the place out, but I probably won’t be back unless they add margaritas or I have a hankering for amazing (but not at all...

Lying thieves! They advertised $0.99 taco Tuesday and charged us $2.50 per taco. We were so focused on getting our overly tired toddler home that we didn’t notice the overcharge until we got home. We called thinking it was an honest mistake and they gave us some BS line about only beef tacos being 99cents. That was stated anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu. And I specifically asked about the taco Tuesday deal when we sat down which would’ve been the perfect opportunity to explain which tacos were discounted. If that were true.

The service was slow even though we were only one of two tables. The bathrooms were dirty. This is a dump with mediocre food at best. I don’t know if they lied outright about the cost or pulled a bait and switch but this is a dishonest business. They don’t deserve to be...

Pretty abismal. The womens toilet door does not lock or close properly. The entire place is dirty feelings and the floor is filthy when you look closely. The chilaquiles were just bag nachos, cheese, chicken and diced tomatoes. That is lazy chicken nachos, not chilaquiles. Sopes tasted like shrimp because of the old dirty oil. Water smelled chemical and the glass was chipped. They could do with an internal update, revamping of the menu and a deep clean. The menu is also just pictures and no listing of sides or drinks.

Adding that Partner threw up after eating Sopes. He ate lettuce obviously and I note that someone below also threw up...
