If leaving zero stars was an option that's what this Waffle House would deserve. To start, I brought to the attention of the server that the bacon burger served was rotten. Instead of being offered a replacement or refund, I was asked if I could pinpoint what was bad on it (ie; the burger, the bacon, the cheese, the lettuce, the mayo or the bun) and when I said I wasn't sure, but something was definitely wrong, I was not only stunned that he expected me to figure it out, but even more stunned to receive the response of "I don't do the cooking". The whole experience was a total disgrace and after jumping through all of the corporate phone call and website hoops to just speak to the manager, I was greeted with an accusatory and patronizing conversation, in which I was told that I should have asked for a replacement or refund instead of expecting the staff to be mindful enough and to care enough to offer one. He didn't care that I was charged for food that I didn't eat nor did he care my sister was charged for food that literally made her sick a handful of hours later, because she did eat hers - and the mistake of doing that caused her several hours of vomiting. The store stunk horribly, the floors and grill line which was visible from our booth was beyond disgusting. Honestly, if we hadn't been the only two people in the place, we would have walked out, but we felt a bit strange doing so (won't let that feeling dictate a decision again) and actually felt sorry for the waitstaff as they had no other business. The server was very nice, but clearly was poorly trained, despite the manager's argument to the contrary. When he wanted my sister's number to verify her experience, I told him that she wouldn't answer an unknown or unexpected call, but to leave a message and she would call him back. I also warned him it wouldn't likely be a pleasant conversation considering she was the one who vomited for hours. He never called her and when I gave her his number a day later to call him - he straight out lied and said that I told him she wouldn't answer so why would he bother to call. I NEVER told him that. He is a liar, a terrible manager and took absolutely no responsibility for the condition of his store, his food, his employees or his own poor demeanor in handling it all. If I could eat free there for the rest of my life, I'd choose to starve before walking into that joint. Most of the time there are employees there, but the front door is locked or they say they canāt make any food because there is only one employee. About a month ago they said they couldnāt make any food because they didnāt have gloves. Another time the woman said she didnāt know how to make eggs, since they donāt have a spatula. They do not answer the phone & most of the time you canāt eat there. We usually try to get food to go; but like I said, most of the time they wonāt make any food or are closed. Since it is closest to our house, we always try them first, but usually have to drive to Raleigh or Knightdale. Tonight (Saturday 11:30pm) we tried to get food to go. My wife went in to order; with two employees, & no customers, they said they could not take orders or any cash or credit cards. Everything has to be done online. We left & went to Knightdale. Iām sure this place will close. They would save $ by just closing for 3rd shift. We have owned our own business in the service industry for almost 20 years; so I get how difficult things are; but this place is out if control. The employees are rude & could care less. Fast forward my stupid tale still go there because I get it and totally understand that things happen. So today was the last straw the customer service was a -1 and I was going to truly let it go but to give me attitude and when I get home my food isnāt correct. After waiting 30 minutes I asked the young lady with the clear glasses on how much longer. She never came back with an answer but the young man working was keeping his customers updated itāll be a few more minutes. So once it turned into 43 minutes I asked for a refund and the woman with the skirt on act like she had an attitude well all you was waiting on was the grits. Get home and they forgot my sausage. I canāt even be mad at them more mad at myself because I keep taking my stupid tale back lol.
