Good day fellow Zeelanders, I just wanted to share a recent experience about this place. I have not dined there other than one time a yr ago and felt like I was not welcome or wanted there and later got sick from a local beer in a generic can from the bar. Then, this last week I noticed garbage everywhere by dumpsters. After picking up nearly two full 45-55 gallon trash bags of litter(trash)!from near the dumpsters area used by other area businesses I noticed all the trash was from their establishment. I just wanted to bring it to the manager's attention about the situation as I thought they might care. After the denial that the trash wasn't theirs (yet the name of the establishment was on the cups and the receipts) I then realized I was being watched by an employee standing outside in parking lot and told it wasn't their fault and probably done by the city workers emptying trash cans outside. I was then interrogated and asked where I lived, my name and why I cared about the trash spread throughout the whole parking lot and 2 blocks away at the library and near 2nd church parking lot. I explained bc I don't like litter and frequently pick up the parking lot later in the evenings to help out our planet from non biodegradable trash, and or recycling it. After spending 30m or more picking up the remaining garbage, I was being watched by the employee from the sidewalk and didn't even offer to help or apologize for the accidental or purposely or carelessly deposited trash everywhere except into the dumpsters. The next thing I know is that there are 2 police cars next to the dumpsters. I went outside and explained the situation to the 2 police officers and what had transpired. They agreed that it was wrong and thanked me for picking up the trash. Also to call them first before picking up or confronting them again bc of no proof they actually did it. So, if you're looking for an environmental hazard and lack of care for the town of Zeeland and mother nature the creator made, feel free to visit! No guarantee your trash will end up where it needs to be or recycled. Funny how the people who know they made a mistake and don't like that you asked for them to try and correct issues tend to be the ones who call the police first to show they are not at fault. Yet wasting the officers time our tax dollars to harass a person trying to do the right thing. I would not recommend going to this establishment for many reasons but this incident is an embarrassment for the town and the good people of Zeeland, to have such an unprofessional and eco- unfriendly establishment behave and act so irresponsibly, and unprofessionally. Plus the maliciousness of their response is disheartening. Good luck to anyone who decides to go there for many negative reasons. I truly support responsible local businesses that practice good ethics and let the bad ones like this place close down, so a better and responsible, friendly business can thrive.

Tripelroot is my go-to hang-out spot when I want a beer, a game of cribbage, and a good time with friends and family - such an awesome spot. The owners are salt of the earth and are great people - most likely they'll be serving you as well! Since it's family owned they don't keep crazy late hours and, uniquely, they're not open on the weekends, so make it a point to be there after work or when you're shopping in Zeeland. Lunch menu and homemade soups are really good, along with other snacks that are available. Great beer selection - Hop Barn #6 is my standby. Also a big whiskey and wine selection as well. You'll find a lot of cool locally-made things for sale around the brewery as well. Mug club memberships open up each November which includes your own pottery mug that you take home at the end of the year which I love - I use mine for my coffee every morning. They're larger seating area is great for company gatherings, bands (which play almost every weekend), and trivia nights on Tuesdays. Highly highly recommend!

My favorite place Downtown Zeeland! They have the best wraps ever. My favorite is the Turkey Bacon Ranch wrap! They also have an amazing lunch menu that goes until 1:30 everyday! The nachos are HUGE and very well priced for the size. Quesadillas and sandwiches are also very delicious and they even do specials every once in a while! The owners are also very kind and talked me through their wine selection because I was buying a gift! Their wine selection is very big and they definitely have a lot of great options! I also noticed that Tripelroot gets their lettuce from a local produce business in Zeeland that they use in their salads and wraps! And, their togo boxes, straws and soup cups are compostable! I really love this aspect of Tripelroot because it shows that the owners value supporting local and they are eco friendly! Tripelroot is the best place to shop for gifts (or for yourself) because they have the funniest signs, coasters, stickers, napkins, socks, and notepads! I would recommend Tripelroot to anyone!

Tripelroot offers a wide variety of beers (both in house and others) and wine. They also have a great selection of appetizers, sandwiches, and flatbread that all sound good or taste good (from what I've had). Their Eighteen99 Hefeweizen was very good, and the IPA my wife had was to her liking. I've also tried the BBQ pork flatbread, meatlovers flatbread, and their nachos, all of which have been good!

I've been to Tripelroot twice, and the first time was around 3pm on a weekday, so it wasn't very busy. Our server was great, the food and beer was good, and I had no complaints. However the second time we went it was a bit different experience. It was a little busier, however there were still plenty of open tables (as it was on a Monday night). Once we got our drinks and food in, we didn't see our waiter for a while. After about 25 minutes she came back over and apologized that our food ticket got lost and that the food would be coming out right away. It did come out fairly quick after that, but the server didn't stop by during that time we waited to check on us, to see if we needed any other beer, etc. After she dropped the food off, we didn't see her again the rest of the evening, not even to drop off our bill. To our dismay, nothing was comp'd on the order due to the ticket being lost and us having to wait longer than anticipated. I'd like to think I'm a pretty understanding person, and usually I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt, especially when it comes to the service industry. However not even really acknowledging the screw up on the servers side and not even willing to do something to make it an easier pill to swallow was a little frustrating. Ultimately though I'm only taking one star off for that, because it only happened once. Hopefully next time we'll have the same experience...
