Green Bear Bar — Restaurant in Samarkand City

Ok guys: all in all not the place to go. Tricks being played to extort money from the customers.

Details: upon entering the establishment no waiter, no staff overall interest in the customer 1 minute waiting and a girl enters the establishment: the waiters turned immediately and asked her if they can help her. However the female customer was obviously occupied on her phone and was expecting me to be served before her, as i was already waiting. After me saying a few words, i got finally adressed to by the staff -the menu has been changed in comparison to the one of a few months ago: prices have overall been increased upon ordering food, i asked for 200g T-Bone steak, apart from a chicken soup, a beer, a salad and a sprite (price of the T-bone steak was mentioned in the menu per 100g). I got told 300 g orders are the minimum.

-the bill then said 3.5 x100g !

I asked for taking the extra 0.5 off the bill and they took it off the final amount where however 15% service charge are added. -Finally i recalculated the bill myself and paid only the due amount.

Uncomfortable situation being caused by the staff. Small tricks are being played to get a maximum...

I loved this bar! There’s some great decor and large tables inside and the staff behind the bar are genuinely helpful in finding a drink from the large range which is suitable. Sitting outside is a delight though, with comfortable seating and table sizes suited to any group size. In the evening some music provided a great atmosphere but even during the day the relaxing vibe is great. The waiting staff were attentive and quick throughout my visit.

The drinks menu lists a few bar snacks but there is a separate a full food menu on offer. The selection of food is very wide, from small plates to very large barbecued platters. The mini khachapuri were the perfect starter and so tasty, despite the egg not being runny. And the lamb chops for main were some of the best I’ve ever had - cooked perfectly and while not the largest, five made up for it! Presentation of all the dishes was super and the value for money incredible.

Well worth taking a detour to check this place out and one of the highlights of my time...

The owner states its a "European style bar".

The saus in the pasta my girlfriend got didn't bind together. So it was in a pool of water with saus flakes. How someone can make that and think it's good is beyond me. Every eye can see it's a bowl of water and pasta.

After my girlfriend got her main (the pasta) it took 45 minutes before I got my main (steak and lambshops). That ruined the whole evening.. it's everything but a European style. The steak was cooked perfected, but the lambschops weren't. The tendons weren't removed so it was to chewy to eat. Again; it's basic cooking to remove the tendons in a lambchop.

10 minutes after I finished my main, we got the sides (how can timing be this bad?). The fries where oily and sloppy. Again: how a cook can serve it out is beyond me.

The drinks where really good, good cocktail, good beers, nice service. But again; the kitchen...
