Steam Bar — Restaurant in Tashkent

Went here on the day 1 of arriving in Tashkent. This bar seems to be highly revenue minded and unprofessional at the same time. Upon arrival, the lady at the entrance stared at us for a few seconds, came up to us and mentioned that we need to pay a deposit of 800,000 Uzbekistan Som to be seated and we need to make a minimum bill of 800k Som to dine here. Out of 40+ different countries and atleast over 10k+ bars and restaurants that I’ve ever visited in my life, this is the first establishment where they asked us to pay money in advance to be seated. I mean, we are two healthy travelling couple, I am not even sure how can both of us dine for 800K Som, unless we want to over eat and negatively impact our stomach (especially while travelling).Also, I have a feeling that this new rule was made just for us and more specifically for our ethnicity. We are originally Indians, and me and my wife kind of sensed that it’s just a new technique to keep people of our kind...

What a fantastic bar / restaurant!! From the moment I arrived the staff treated me like a VIP, being attentive with the service, always helping with the menu and requests, and checking up that all was good as a solo guest. The decor everywhere is incredible, with so much to admire and appreciate, with it extending to all areas including the bathrooms. It’s large inside with plenty of seating, but there’s also loads of tables outside too.

QR codes let you browse the menu which is complete with photos to help you decide. There’s a great range of food, from snacks, sharing plates, barbecue etc. Everything is served quickly, including drinks, and portion size is really large with everything being well cooked and tasty.

It’s a brilliant spot for relaxing, and after only initially popping in for one drink I ended up staying for hours right into the evening! A highlight...

I went to this place on the recommendations of my friends, good location, the kitchen is edible. Very upset with the service of this institution: the officers were very rude, ignored our table, did their work with a favor, showed their character, which was very annoying, the waiters sat at the next table of about six people and they ate, we were ignored, pretended to be us not in this place, we waited for our orders quite a long time. If you want to go to a place with a good service, this is not the place where you can relax and spend your money. We took the pizza with us because our patience was exhausted, the pizza was not cut! I do not recommend this place, I come on vacation and when I go to known places, I expect due service that I did not get !!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION PARTICULARLY FOR...
