What started as a quick search for a bite to eat turned into a surprisingly memorable experience at Top of the Loop Cafe and Restaurant. I followed Google’s lead and ended up on a breezy rooftop, surrounded by leafy green decor and views of the surrounding area and distant mountaintops. It was the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the relaxed atmosphere.
The real gem of the visit, though, was chatting with Hendrick, the manager. Warm, well-travelled, and effortlessly engaging, he shared fascinating stories and local insight that you just wouldn’t find on a tourist map. He even offered tips on things to do, places to see, and other general local knowledge about the area. If you’re after top-notch travel advice or local connections, Hendrick is absolutely your guy. Very conversational and easy to talk with.
The food and drinks were solid, the service was kind and attentive, and the whole place had an easy, welcoming vibe. What was meant to be a simple meal turned into a memorable experience on my trip.
While I didn’t stay at the hostel, I don’t doubt that the hostel matched the standard of the cafe and restaurant.

Read moreThis place is an absolute gem, we stayed here and also sat at the restaurant on many occasions, at lunch time it was quiet and the service was amazing, when we came back in the evening it was very busy and there was a long wait for food some people waited over an hour, however you could tell the staff were working very hard the only thing I would say is maybe to make people aware of the wait times before they order. One other thing is we were told when ordering there was no pizza, burger or chicken schnitzel which limited the menu quite a lot, and people could be made aware on entry to reduce disappointment when trying to order. The food however is very tasty and worth the wait. Other than that we have absolutely loved our stay here the staff are all so friendly, the rooms are clean and comfy and the view is incredible. Staff are always working hard and trying their best, if it’s quiet they are thoroughly cleaning the restaurant and when it’s busy they still provide great service, the owner is also very lovely. Would definitely recommend staying or...
Read moreIf you're ever craving Western cuisine in the middle of your Vietnam trip, this is a great place to get your fill. Located on the tenth floor, you get a clear view of the surrounding hills and you can also look down towards the city. The lighting is impressive and the seating is really comfy. The music is soft pop. I loved the bamboo and wooden interiors. If you want the best seats, come by 6 PM. The clientele is mostly American, British and European. The manager personally came to check up on all the customers so that's a nice touch. You can get most of your American and Italian staples here. I started off with a couple of cocktails: Loop Signature Cocktail, rum goes really well with cold brew tea and hibiscus syrup; Vodka Eastside Cocktail, vodka, egg white and cucumber has never tasted better; Cold Brew Negroni, a classic made splendidly. I had the Snack Platter and it was really good, especially the pork crackle. The Spaghetti Bolognese was just perfect. The prices are a bit high, but the food quality and service is just perfect, not to...
