Don't miss the Barefoot Beach Club restaurant - and bar if a bar is your thing. Mostly this is a sit outside, watch the waves, or go down to the beach for a swim, eat, drink, relax, feel the breeze off the ocean. If it gets chilly you can grab a table inside the glassed restaurant and still have a nice view. This restaurant is a bit outside of the Hoi An busy area - on the other side of the bridge in a more common housing area. However, the location on the beach cannot be beat for the view. I think an electric car might bring you out here. We rode our bicycles without issue, peddling past the rice fields and the vegetable village, and the guys that let you ride their water buffalo - if you get the cranky guy, move on, there are others that are super fun. On the way to Barefoot Beach Club, there was one little stretch of busy road to cross but it can be done. We have 7 in our group, 5 of them young adults and teenagers, and all were able to navigate the roads easily with the bikes, even though they don't ride bikes often at home. Enjoy this little hidden jewel. There are numerous places on this stretch of road that have an amazing location on the water - including a great coffee shop called Sound of Silence....don't miss this place for a nice breakfast...
Read moreHalf-decent burger, 3 of us thought it was tasteless but we added extra mustard (ingredients felt OK).
My friends mom asked to switch sauce for the ribs but it was out of question. We was told clearly that the listed BBQ sauces were only for other bbq dishes. Although we ordered food and dinner we were first served coke in take away glasses, after asking one of two was replaced for glass, for the drinking water no glass was provided. Someone don't like to wash dishes and prefers discarding single-use items (not good for environment). Beautiful and nice atmosphere!
(Hidden in small letters glued on a sticker on corner of menu, they add 8% VAT, few establishments use this strategy which is not standard in Vietnam to fool people about the price, we didn't see it and was...
Read moreA very disappointing evening. While the service was ok (all smiles, no action) the food was average at best. The fish and chips were cold and greasy (fish) and soggy (chips).
BBQ was ok.
The real downside was the inability of the staff to read the room. The "live music duo" managed to deafen the 15 or so diners who struggled to hold meaningful conversations over various tortured elevator classics including True Colors (missing 80% of the words), periods of huge feedback, and What's up? Im sure 4 non blondes are considering legal council
My verdict...great location, average food, expensive and...
