Read moreBeautiful white sand beach. Only 10 minutes drive from the ancient city. The beach is cleaned every morning by the officers. No worries about the trash.
Public motorbike parking at the entrance is 10K. 50 meters to the beach.
Make sure you enjoy the fresh fruit smoothies at the entrance near the parking spot if you park here. Not too expensive and uber delicious. They use fresh fruit and filtered water. I didnt get any upset stomach.
There are sun beds at the beach in front of the restaurants. The sun beds near the entrance are not free. However, there are some restaurants who provide the free ones.
After our first visit, we always go to Wind and Moon Restaurant, to enjoy all the free services; free motorbike parking, towels, showers, all free. Not as fancy as other restaurants but we always go here because the staff is very attentive and friendly. One of the ladies speaks good english, we enjoy chatting with her. The drink menu are not expensive as well. Go for whole coconut, served cold from the fridge and it stays cold in the next 1 hour or so. I think 60K for the coconut and 40K for the big bottle of water. Very reasonable price for the free services they give. We easily leave our stuff on the sun beds when we go take a swim. All good and safe.
We didn't eat here as we only go here for a few hours in the morning or afternoon for a swim. But probably better eat in the ancient city.
To avoid the big crowd, better to visit in the morning/noon. The locals go here after work, and more snack sellers come around 4pm and they will open their snack booths in front of the sun beds. Local people would also prefer to rent the mats and buy from these sellers rather than go to the restaurants. So probably cheaper beer...
Read moreA Bang beach is a lively place to visit, you can relax on the one of the many sunbeds located on the beach in front of the palm leaf roofed restaurants that line the beach front. I’ve seen some reviews which state it’s a bit dirty with litter but I didn’t see much of this, there is going to some mess but your expectations should be ready for this. The women on the beach employed by the restaurants to get you to take a sunbed can be overwhelming…where we sat close to the middle of the restaurant front, they were continuously shouting and waving to attract passing tourists to take their sunbeds. It was too much for many people who did not appreciate being caught up in the verbal tussle of these competing Vietnamese ladies shouting between themselves as they hassle you to use their beds. From what I heard they want you to spend around VND150000 to cover the use of two beds and parasol. A few people were stopped and shown to a sunbed but when they told these ladies they only wanted a couple of beers it was made clear to them this wouldn’t cover use of the sunbed for a day. As has been said, the beach is a lot quieter away from A Bang, although I understand the ladies livelihood may depend on bringing the punters in….for me and quite a few others the constant shouting and waving and walking in between your sunbeds was frankly just too much hassle and took away the chance to relax….plenty of restaurants, the food was good and the drinks reasonably priced…the coconut coffee...
