Coconut Flowers restaurant and basket boat trip — Restaurant in Hội An

As I was riding my bicycle towards the Coconut Boat area, I heard a sweet voice riding her bike asking me if I was going for a boat ride and whether I'd be interested in using her family's boat and support the locals rather than the tourist companies. I was very reluctant at first as I wasn't sure I was being scammed or not but something told me that this person can be trusted. And boy I am glad I did! Hy took me to her restaurant, Coconut Flowers, and made feel so at ease until her sister (I believe her name was An) came and took me for a boat ride. First we went through a not so crowded way which I loved before we reached the more touristy part with all the other boats and the loud music. The experience was great! So lovely, she seen me walking and picked me up took me down to the boats. She taught me all about the different Hoi an specialty meals. The difference between the coconut drink and soups. Then asked my preference on the boat ride so we agreed on a mix of quite then into the busy bit for a small time. My boat captain was lovely, happy to help take photos as I was travelling solo. 100% Recommend this lovely family...

Wandered over here and am so glad we did. The rest of the area was packed with tourists, but if you’re brave enough to cross the road that was being worked on (Jan 2025) you’ll find coconut flowers and the lovely people who make excellent food there.
