Basta Hiro - Crescent Mall — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

One star for the good food second for the speed they bring the food, the rest is disaster. I used to work in service and I know how much money the owner is loosing because of incompetent staff. The restaurant was empty and there were more waitresses than guests, but all of their waitresses had their eyes glued to their phones at the same time. I said “mang cho anh mot chai nuoc to” I wanted a bottle of water and the waitress maybe didn’t understand my thick northern accent and immediately started to lecture me that they don’t give water for free and stuff. I asked 2 beers, they brought one, if we didn’t call they would never show up at our table even though sitting right in front of them. We ordered several courses for sharing and they left mountains of empty plates on the table, not changing clean ones after courses, we ordered 320g rib eye steak, they brought it to an different table and even had the audacity to bring the wrong steak which was half the size to our table asking us to take it since they already made it as it was our duty to remedy for their mistake. When we refused, they all showed clear dissatisfaction on their faces. Please train your staff first and have each of them supervised by a more senior at all time, cause apparently we are not...

This was my first visit to Basta Hiro Crescent mall. I guess, they had just started it. Had been before to other locations in Vincom and Takashimaya so eventually I came here with the same expectations.

Nice ambience, friendly staff, great and delicious food like always. Soft and fresh, delicious..the same consistency so no fuzz about it here. We had ordered vegetarian pizza with ricotta and four cheese pizza. What really surprised me here they took almost 25 minutes to get our order. No one even bothered to inform us about it. This was very disappointing!! My wife was definitely annoyed for this part.

We sat outside facing the river view so it became difficult for us to call the staff. Even the door for pull was very hard. Wasn’t friendly and easy to hold.

The area around their billing counter and guests waiting was very clumsy. This is not how premium restaurants are! Our experience for this specific part was really bad. They should do something really about it.

Overall, I loved the food. I am still a happy customer and would love to visit again!! Hope, my next visit will see some better version of Basra Hiro....

Food was pretty nice. I especially love the sweet and chewy sesame bread, as well as the refreshing calamansi smoothie. The tomato soup was a little watery for my liking, but I like the addition of ricotta cheese and cherry tomatoes, it also had a good balance of sweetness and sourness. The wagyu spaghetti was quite bland, and there was little to no beef, just mushroom disguised as beef lol. Kind of disappointing, but I did enjoy the smoky aroma of the beef/mushrooms, and the cherry tomato was also a pleasant surprise.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I also love how cheerful they were!

The atmosphere was great. I like it way better than the Basta Hiro at Saigon Centre. But there was this really weird smell that I can’t figure out where it was coming from, kind of plastic - ish.

Overall, great experience, but the food needs more seasoning. Would definitely come back for the...
